I wish you luck in the Fire Fighter Career, take as much time as you need for the prep on it! As for DQ, it is a pain on waiting and the spinoffs lately haven't been up the par, I still need to play Treasures even if knowing it's mediocre I can't dislike it for trying something different but didn't catch my interest until a sale, Infinity Strash I do want to get but sadden me on how bad it was received to the point Square now will focus on Quality over Quantity. The Dark Prince I want to continue that but a mixture of laziness to continue, playing and beating both Baten Kaitos games caught my attention more and then playing and beating Suikoden 1 and taking some break before really jumping into that monsters game despite me being glad they finally brought it to the west. I'm still glad Monsters did sell well but I think it's best they do try to get to DQ3 remake and DQXII to continue developing, hell if not DQ3 at least DQX offline to keep me occupied. But even then this year has some really good RPGs currently so it's at least there to keep me busy.
Dragon Quest is still in my mind despite the silence but i feel you there. Being a DQ fan outside of Japan is very hard. This games take too long to get released not because of production drama behind the scenes,but more on the emphasis of more content in the game that makes it more worth than it is than the price of preordering or day one purchase. I think our patience is gonna be rewarded at some point cuz i think this is the end of the DQ spinoff saga for now and we’re shifting to the two big boys now.

I personally LOVES DQM The Dark Prince, but they do need to get the frame-rate issues under control with their Switch exclusives. Congratulations on getting into firefighting school dude! I'm holding out for DQ12 and the 3 Remake. Plus I'm learning Japanese so hopefully I can sidestep Square Enix shafting the non Japanese speaking fans when it comes to news, mobile games, some spin offs, and the MMO. I cosplayed Dai at Otakon and met Yuki Hayashi. Super nice person and he told me he would give a picture of me to the producer of dragon quest: dai There was another dragon quest: dai no daibouken fan behind me in the autograph line who told me there's a manga about avan currently releasing which i didn't even know. Great to see the love from fans. Hope the manga keeps being released
I didn't have any graphics or frame rate issue... I thought the story, content, gameplay, characters, everything was 10/10... Hoping for greatness today
Have you read Beet the Vandel Buster Same author and artist as Adventures of Dai. Very similar RPG-ish vibe but still it's own thing and imho potentially even better The next chapter comes out in Japan in Jump Square Rise on April 24th
I think the western fandom is poisoned by all the talks about Sugiyama (wrongly) being called all sorts of nasty and the conservatism of the franchise in general. Sad. Luckily in Vietnam where I live, Dragon Quest Dai is FKING HUGE.
You younger generation have no idea the struggles us older dragonquest fans experienced in the 90s and 2000s. We had to suffer much worse than you all do about dragon quest, 1990s we enjoyed dragon quest 1-4 on the NES. While dragon quest 5 and 6 never saw the light of day here in the states or any other country, while we waited years to even get any of the sequels, We waited and waited but never got any more dragon quest games, Then in 2000 we finally got dragon quest 7 on the ps1, Your complaints are nothing compared to what us older fans had to endure for years, with the dragon quest series, so don't call yourself a dragon quest fan unless you understand what us older fans had to put up with for years. In this day in age you should feel blessed you even get anything dragon quest related.
