You know Zahn McClarnon personally tell him for me that I would watch anything he’s in and love Wes Studi , I agree the scene with both of them I’ve watch over and over I couldn’t believe it I was laughing out loud . And with the kids and the deer scenes . I didn’t expect the show to be funny . So happy for all of them and I’ve told everyone I know about the show thanks .

I read a lot of poetry in college from Joy Harjo and had to check to see if Sterlin was one of her children. He is not.

I just got an idea for a dark comedy (with some dark satire, done in a realist way), history, geography and culture TV series: An indigenous-centric TV show about (or as the backdrop) the California genocide (a.k.a. the much fuller picture of US trek and settlement and state and private-subscription supported mass lynching in west coast states for 27 years. note: there are tons of historical/written records): series set in 5 very different places and situations surrounding 5 different native characters with their families and/or associates (1 near the Sierra Nevada foothills then mountains who are forced to near starvation by settlers and the state and had to resort to stealing and impersonating a Mexican musician, among other things, in order to survive; 1 starting in the Los Angeles area who was forced into indentured servitude and partly-payed in alcohol after his land was 'legally' stolen; 1 on the 'wagon trail' to California from Arizona or Nevada as an 'experienced' (though mostly lucky, talkative, entertaining and clever) guide who ends up having to flee for his life due to the rampant racist paranoia of the 'democratic' white trekkers who had voted-out all the most intelligent leaders of the wagon train; 1 on the border between Arizona and New-Mexico who became part of an Indian militia trying to bring law and order to an important ferry crossing (and has a bad ending involving ye olde 'law and order establishing Indians' versus the word of a gang of 'robber-murderer' whites); 1 a farmer/hunter in far-northern California south of Oregon, who gets on unusually well with his white neighbors, or so he thought, ends up eventually getting scalped by subscription-payed militia/murderers for being an Indian who lived in the same valley when more-desperate Indians from a whole other area were thieving the cattle so as to not starve. The series starting just before the California gold rush to 1871 (e.g. season 1: set in 1846-1850, season 2: 1853-1856, season 3: 1858-1861, season 4: 1863-1866, season 5: 1868-1871). Other interesting secondary characters could be 2 Mexican families, 1 a Mexican sailor on a 2nd-rate clipper ship turned failed goldminer turned Civil War Veteran turned aging rancher/militiaman/vigilante-murderer; 1 Mexican woman from an old prominent California family near Los Angeles that loses their hacienda and then dies from disease and she ends up as a farm laborer where she meets her future love; 1 a male black sailor from Africa who ends up establishing a store; 1 a black originally Texas-raised ex-slave of Cherokee 'ownership' in Oklahoma early during the civil war, who, after escaping from a wagon train after being falsely accused of being in cahoots with non-existent hostile Indians, is rescued from a hunting injury but nevertheless detained by the clueless pro-Confederacy pro-flat-earther leaders of another small incompetently-run wagon-train which had split-up from a large wagon-train that was only too happy to see them go, only to escape again when chaos hit the wagon train of paranoid white settlers who are convinced Indians are everywhere stalking them and end up shooting dead their gourmet chef (who was the most popular member of the train and was out reconnoitering for grub), and then he joins up with an Indian militia guarding and running a ferry crossing on a state border only to be murdered by state-approved vigilantes on the lying word of an actual robber-murder gang of whites; 1 Chinese woman brought over as a concubine in San Francisco who manages to escape her fate to a charitable society for 'fallen women' where she is educated and eventually becomes the servant of a wealthy family and then becomes a restaurant manager at a prestigious hotel, only to lose her job after anti-Chinese racist pressure on her Scottish boss. Also a couple Jewish characters coincidently from the same town in Germany arrive in San Francisco on the same clipper ship, where they are treated practically as 'white people' for the first time ever, one opens a store in SF and becomes wealthy and famous and end's up taking a lower road to maintain his position within the white community (nearly half of city whites are pro-slavery or indifferent and most are anti-Chinese), the other Jewish man has a long series of ridiculous small tragedies and minor lucky-breaks that add up but has a bad ending in the central valley involving a cow, a pickaxe, slippery mud and a crushed rib-cage.
Homework: read and watch the extremely well documented 'Murder State, the California Genocide 1846-1873' (by Brendan Lindsay) for some stories and ideas, more interesting and mindblowing-disturbing than any 'western' or K-12 history text I've ever seen + ruclips.net/video/qSKKcIZUw8w/видео.html (
