I have now watched about 1 week os steel guitar videos and nobody doesn't explain why some lap and pedal steels sounds dirrefent. I mean that some have more round sound like hawaii styyle then there is the country twangy kind of sound. only 2 cheap lap steels I have found that have the hawaii sound are Epiphone Electar Century 1939 lap steel and Gretsch G5700 Lap Steel. I would say Epiphone has more hawaii sound than the Gretsch 5700.
It took me years to figure out that you can turn the tone control down, and reduce the treble on your amp. That has more effect on the sound than the steel itself, so I'd check that out.
@@tunnis7us I had one of those, and it's a nice instrument. I did a video comparing cheap lap steels, and that was one of them. It might help you to check it out.
@@texas_swing yes on all videos including yours it seems to have the most close sound of hawaii of them all :) Those rela pedal steel too have some of them, but I ain't going to pay 5K + for steel so :D this seems to be the best option to test this instrument.
Thanks Brother Shaw! Like, subscribed and shared!
Thanks and good luck on your steel journey!
Thanks! Just starting out and the vids have been helpful.
Glad they can help!
Thanks, I am trying to get a pedal steel tuned. Pretty complicated. I think im going to try c6
C6 is a great tuning. Good luck on your journey!
Would you happen to know which type of steel guitar is used on “let’s ride into the sunset together” By Tony vice and Jerry Burnham?
Sorry, no.
Ha, I started on a Peavey Powerslide!
Nice!

@@texas_swing if I buy one it's propably the piphone one since it has that classic tone and it comes with the gig bag as well :)
