The overwhelming positive review was overshadowed by your cons. By the end of the video, really couldn’t tell if you were having second thoughts or not on the bag. Might want to start with cons for future reviews
I opted in for the cover sleeve from Monos to help minimize the wear and tear, and also allows for easy cleaning- I just grab a micro fiber cloth and some cleaning spray to wipe down after my trips.
Thank you so much for your detailed and honest review. It really helps me a lot in deciding if I should get Monos or another brand. I really like the interior packing space, and I wanted to know more pros and cons of it. This video showed that it's pretty durable, and it would be a good investment. Thank you again!
All those scuffs would eat at me. That's why I purchased a hardshell/soft shell hybrid carry-on. I know I won't be able to 100% eliminate wear, but I do want to keep it a a minimum if I can. I'm going to try to do carry on only if I can. I do have a larger check-in size that is patterned and it doesn't show any wear, scuffs or scratches that I can see. I just wipe it down after every trip.
Great video. Would be nice to include links in the description though 😃. They have a few carry on bags and it took me a couple mins to figure out which bag specifically you were reviewing.
Good video! The pacing was a little slow (for example the first chapter was too long) for me but the review was honest and you had excellent lighting and audio. Good work, keep it up.
The wear and tear part of the review was confusing. I think most bags end up looking the same unless they are plastic wrapped? Sure Aesthetically it is not perfect anymore but they’re never gonna look like they did in the ads unless you plan to never travel with them.Just weird enjoy the honesty on the rest but was confused on that part.
Honestly I just got mine. It feels super cheap to me. I don’t get it. Maybe the design works well, but all I can say is that I’m very happy I got mine at a big discount
Gonna be going to Playa del Carmen next week and I was wondering how nervous you are bringing your cameras out. I’m thinking of being my R5 but I’m legit nervous. Would you mind sharing your travel kit and security mind set abroad?
I would say I’m aware when I have my gear on me. Regardless of being in the US or Mexico. That said this past trip I brought the RF 15-35 f/2.8L and the RF 50 f/1.8. The 15-35mm for vlogging. The 50mm for portraits and a more tourist camera look and feel with the smaller lens. Always be aware, never be alone. Speak the language or have a trusted person with you who can. Don’t travel anywhere without anything you aren’t willing to have damaged or lost. Or at least get insurance. All said, Quintana Roo is an amazing state and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest. Buen Viaje!
I'm sorry I purchased a Monos carry-on! Difficult to maneuver, doesnt hold much and the compression system is not all that great. My family member had a Travel Pro carry-on that was far superior ! It's no wonder it's recommended by pilots and flight attendants!
Atm I’m torn between the monos pro plus and the Beis carry on. I’ve heard that monos luggage is better quality, but it’s a shame the monos luggage doesn’t have the option to expand the luggage like Beis does
Same. I want to get my brother some luggage and I’m trying to decide on the Beis or Monos. The few reviews I saw show Beis with less marks. I like them both so I have to decide.
DO NOT BUY MONOS. I bought a set of two MONOS suitcases. I traveled to Italy with my family. The others on our trip had AWAY and Briggs & Riley. My luggage looked so cheap next to theirs. Mine also buckled when stacked with the others. Their bags were several years old. My BRAND-NEW luggage looked like I tied the suitcases to the back of a truck and drove around town. Their bags looked new next to mine. I contacted MONOS to let them know how the luggage faired, and they told me to pound sand since I had used the luggage on the trip.
Don’t buy this luggage!!! I did my research, paid nearly $2k and am extremely disappointed. It dents easily. It scruffs easily. I even purchased the covers. Those help, but not all international flights allow them. For example, they are not allowed on flights from Terminal 1 at JFK. I have the carry on pro and it barely fits anything even with the compression packs. I travel for business and there is no way to get a laptop and an iPad in the bag along with 2-3days of clothes and accessories. I met 3 people in the airport with the same luggage (different colors) and they HATED their bags too. IMO, monos knows their luggage is garbage because I tried to review it today on their site but creating new reviews has been disabled.
IMHO your cons of Monos are very minor.I know how to use the buckles. It doesn't confuse or frustrate me. The laundry bag is okay for a week of dirty clothes if you wear anti microbial shirts, socks, and undies. You could wear them for 2 days without stink. I bought the luggage cover to avoid scuffs and marks while travelling. I think monos is a great value especially if purchased on sale with a discount code. Take care.
I think the only luggage that looks better with age are all aluminum or leather suitcases. The only other thing is try a silver bag so that it looks kind of like the aluminum maybe...
Dude I love the haircut! Incredible update on your travels.

wish you showed more of the suitcase and what the wear looked like/ what it looked like after you tried cleaning it
It doesn’t make sense to report luggage usage in miles; you’re not riding your suitcase as a vehicle. Segment volume makes far more sense.
I did
Its helpful instead of a paid review. I’ve had one luggage with 10,000 miles in a year, current one broken- different brand
How many flights he used it on makes sense
You know no one asked for your critique right?
You’re obviously not a frequent flyer. By him mentioning the miles MAKES SENSE !!!

I thought it was a shoe bag not a laundry bag… the suitcase comes in a canvas dust bag you could use as a laundry bag.
it''s definitely a shoe bag lol
Just be warned, if you want to return for any reason, you will be out $60. No one else has such arcane return policies. Total rip off.
You are right when it comes to when it looks new to after 10k miles of travel. The wear and tear gotta look good still
Appreciate this review! Your review and my friend's recent purchase have definitely convinced me to get this bag in the carry-on version!

A couple minutes?! The horror! 😩
you didn't say how it held up being on planes in checked bags, conveyer belts.. did it get dented any scuffs you cant get off?
Good video! The pacing was a little slow (for example the first chapter was too long) for me but the review was honest and you had excellent lighting and audio. Good work, keep it up.
Fellow Spokanite! Super helpful video. Thanks!
Thanks for touching on exterior scuffs. Did the magic eraser work to some extent?

One trip with monos luggage and it looks like its 20 years old. Scuffs and scratches do not buff out.
Agreed. I bought MONOS and after one European trip it looks 10 years old. Cheap looking luggage. DO NOT BUY!
I was wondering if all the internal zippers are YKK like the main ones?
Thanks for your honest review.

How much did you get it for? And where?
Thank you for the review...is this the carry on or the carry on plus?
Excellent video!
Your cosmetic grievances made sense.

@@_stevenfoster The R5 and my Nifty Fifty is what I'd be taking, since it's all I have haha. But I like the idea of insurnace. Thanks man.
Checked luggage will mark , dent and scratch. To think otherwise is silly!
I have a question can u cover your luggage when u check it?

Shouldve bought a rimowa
Could I do a review on monos luggage cover that protects the luggage tyvm

Maybe you should have invested in the MONOS luagge protective covers?
He just said he had those
I wish they were magnetic for all the clips internally

you could use the bag's dustbag as a big laundry bag too
Wouldn't it make more sense to state how many times flown compared to how many miles?!
I think the only luggage that looks better with age are all aluminum or leather suitcases. The only other thing is try a silver bag so that it looks kind of like the aluminum maybe...
Dude…seriously? It’s all about leg segments and NOT miles. What a ridiculous premise and title for your evaluation. 😂
Too much blah blah blah
