GOBBLING LIKE CRAZY | Montana Merriam's TURKEY | First Ever Turkey

My buddy Blake and I took to the Black Hills of South Dakota to attempt to harvest a Merriam's Turkey. Being my first turkey hunt it was all of a learning curve for me. The bird numbers in the Black Hills have dwindled in recent years and many hunters struggled to harvest this year. We were no exception to this as we had troubles finding birds that wanted to talk. After four days hunting in South Dakota, Blake's best friend, Frank, invited us to Montana in hopes of getting on birds he had located earlier in the season. We were able to get it done as Blake harvested his bird on the second morning in Montana on a property Frank's buddy, Aaron, was able to get us on.
We met back up with frank to head to the hills on a property he has and struck up a gobbler just after 12:00PM and the hunt was on. After nearly a 2 hour back and forth with a hung up gobbler we made a move to get on his level down in the draw a ways. The move made all the difference and the gobbler popped over the hill and right into my sights.
My first turkey hunt was one for the books and it is safe to say I am now hooked.
