Have had that wheel on the last three boats I’ve owned. Replaced an older wheel like that on, on a Grady White. All the difference in the world. The knob is the best part. Boats looking better and better, Capt.
Fitted an almost identical wheel to my boat today. Looking forward to easier docking. My last boat had this. The best part is that you can quickly spin the wheel lock to lock with your left hand while using the throttle with your right. Voila!
Very nice upgrade, I've had my eye on one for my boat. I have the same old big one like you had... so true when maneuvering in close quarters especially with a wind, you need to be quick and the knob and the small diameter is the way to go... !! Plus... Looks awesome !!!

@@OutOnTheReef finally got the wheel off leaving wd40 overnight as you suggested. Did you use any marine grease on the shaft before installing the new one cap?
@@p3teytran awesome buddy and I don't remember if I put any grease on it but next time using a pulley would really get it out of there with no problems and you did the right thing by putting some WD-40 overnight that really loosen it up. Great vid. Changing my wheel as well. Could you share thoughts on the boats maneuverability in tight spaces after install. Pilothouses are great but only those of us that have them know too well how wind plays a huge role while docking. Im hoping my new 13.5" wheel we be a noticeable difference.

You need to get a pulley a steering wheel pulley but in my case I put some WD-40 and play with it it until I got it out . And you have an awesome boat to Captain👍🤙🏝🏖

I will say you might want to look at Sea-Dek Marine Products for your floor when you walk on it we did our Grady White and love it very comfortable and easy to do your self.

Fuel can be very costly at a marina so anything I can come up with that will help save fuel I will install on the boat.

That's a good price on your wheel; I spent more than what you paid, (Around $85 each) for just the Edson steering knobs that I put on my wheels; (Your videos end up costing me a lot of $$$ ☺ because now I'd like to have the new wheels!!)... I saw a Tri-State video that shows Parker has upgraded one of their new boats with a similar wheel (not all of them) as yours, except their steering knob is on the wheel itself, and not on the inner rib; I like it better like yours, on the inner rib, as it is more out of the way; I can't tell if the Parker has the finger grips...
