Amtrak, CSX, & NS: Charging into the future in Selma, October 2nd 2023 (Ft. AMTK 301, 108, & more!)

On October 2nd 2023, I made my way yet again up to Selma NC, to catch some unique Amtrak action. Of the 5 Amtrak trains I caught, 4 had a new Amtrak ALC-42 Charger locomotive, whether it be leading solo, or trailing behind a P42. Amtrak 301, the charger Day 1 heritage unit, was leading Palmetto 90 while P42 phase VI heritage unit 108 was leading 79, with only a 6 car consist instead of The usual 7. Included is also the first charger to be on Amtrak 80 (which had P42 183 leading). Enjoy!

Great video -- I happened to be riding one of those trains (Train 92) but was on the wrong side of the train so didn't see you. Great railfan action at Selma!
