I just wanted to know as a 'hanafi' what is a salafi opinion on the four schools of thought? I prefer to consider myself just a Sunni rather than hanafi or Shafi Maliki hanbali etc. These four teachers got their information from the same source anyways so why does it sound like salafi only except salafism. It's not like we accept bida.
@@inseram4117 Salafis or ahlu l hadith or ahlu l athar are the same, they take directly from the Quran and the sunnah and the sayings of the salaf (the companions and the tabiin and the great scholars of islam like the four imams). The four imams Abu Hanifa, Malik, Chafii and Ahmed are from the great scholars of islam so in their times they teached people about islam and they gave fatwa about various matters of the religion, but they never created a school or said to the people that its obligatory to follow them or their opinions but rather they said to take from where they took (quran and sunnah) and they also said that nobody is infaillible exept the prophet peace be upon him. so we say thay its okay to follow a school of fiqh but as you know schools of fiqh are not infaillible what is infaillible is the quran and the sunnah so its not permissible to follow the opinion of a school of fiqh if it goes against the quran and sunnah. For example there is a clear sahih hadith saying that (all) the prophets put their right hands over their left hands during salat. and it is mentionned also in other ahadiths that the prophet peace be upon him and the companions used to pray putting their right hands over their left hands, So we know that this is the correct way of praying. But some people who follow maliki madhhab during salat they do not do this but rather they let their arms go down all over their bodies, because this have been attributed to imam malik, (but in reality he used to pray just like the prophet peace be upon him did and the companions). So we give them the sahih ahadith about the correct way of praying but they insist on following maliki madhahb, this is not permissible because the sayings of Allah and the prophet peace be upon him must come before the sayings of anybody. for more and better informations i suggest you ask scholars like sheikh ibn baz and ibn utheymine and al albani and their likes or students of knowledge in the west like abu khadeeja and abu iyad and abu hakeem bilal davis or look for their fatwas which are available on the internet about the school of fiqh. wa Allahu a3lam
