So many interesting books. It looks like it will be a really good reading year 😊 I’ll be especially interested in knowing how the ones about the animals go, both the fiction and the nonfiction 🐬🐙 Also, Six of Crows is one of my favourite books. I hope you enjoy it 🤞
I love your picks for 25 in 2025! The exercise about writing 3 pages is something I did a little bit for a while -- definitely something I want to get back to but maybe not 3 pages but just journal in general to open my mind a little bit more 🥰 I have to be honest, I haven't seen many of these books yet (probably only six of crows being the only ones I know of)! so I'll be checking a lot of the literary/fantasy categories after this video to see if I can add something onto my TBR 🤭Trying to finish my 25 for 2025 now but one book for sure that's on the list is going to be Piranesi
Thanks! I'm super excited about that selection ^^ Ahah, I hope you end up finding some good literary/fantasy recs in there! Curious to see what we'll end up on your list. Piranesi seems like a solid choice - I've only heard people raving about it!
Great list! I still need to read Hello Beautiful, I was going to read it in 2024 but never got around to it, oops 😂 It’s an homage to Little Women so you’re exactly right! Excited for The Fifth Season! The Phoenix Keeper sounds cool and I just love that cover/edition 😍 I’m still compiling my 25 in 25 list since I’ll be making a video too! Definitely wanting to prioritize my physical TBR and finishing series though.
aaaah I feel very validated about Hello Beautiful, thanks ^^ well, if you want to add another buddy read next year, you know where to find me :D Looking forward to your video and seeing which books make it onto your list!
coming over of from the ellenmade bookclub 🙃 looks like a great stack! I actually have Sorrow and Bliss on my january tbr. And good luck with Pod, I liked it, but it was a wild ride. And check for TWs if needed! Also added the one by Anneli Jordahl to my (never ending) tbr 😊
How Kyoto Breaks your Heart seems very interesting- will look out for your review! My fiance really liked the Mountain in the Sea and it reminds me of the movie/book Arrival. I love the cover of Paideia and I can understand the pull as well 😊 The fifth season is one of my FAVORITES I am so excited for you to read it! I have the Phoenix Keeper as well and I need someone to convince me to read it.
I totally get the appeal of Paideia, I can’t wait for you to read it and tell us all about it! 😊 How cool for your friend to come out with a book, I’ll keep an eye out for it. Good title as well!
I did not know a book called "The hearing test" existed, will have to check out. I have also had an unread book on my kindle for too long called "your brain on art", when you talked about the first book it reminded me that I will have to read that one at some point. Don´t really know what books I am reading next year. I am hoping to start a new fantasy trilogy but I have no idea which one to go for..
Ahah, I was actually thinking of you when editing that bit of the video. I remember you mentioning in a comment at some point that the words you prononce sometimes don't match what you had in mind when speaking in English. Well, in my head, I was sure I said "sensory loss" but while editing, I realized I said "sense lost" multiple times... Which people surely understand, but still annoys me ^^' Anyway, the serendipity of you commenting specifically about that book makes me laugh. Have you read the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K Jemisin? It's a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, so many not what you're looking for exactly, but I've heard such good things about it. I'm really keen to pick it up next year.
@@Curious-Cat Haha, yes.. It is the worst, but I never notice when others do it.. Broken Earth or The Name of the wind.. I think it stands between thos two.. I also have others, but I feel like I have managed to narrow it down to those two..At least I know I will pick a fantasy series I already own..
I really liked the mental health rep in Sorrow and Bliss. Curious to hear your thoughts. I couldn't get into The Hearing Test, so I'll be interested in your review. I was in the minority and didn't like Hello Beautiful. I do enjoy books about sisters, but not that one. I'm hoping to read more books off my shelves in 2025!
Glad to hear about Sorrow and Bliss! Yep, i'm starting to have second thoughts about the Hearing Test - I saw it compared to Rachel Cusk's writing, which I haven''t read, but she blurbed Motherhood by Sheila Heti, which I DNFed, so I'm a bit nervous that it'll be the same vibe... The premise still sounds really good, though. So we'll see. I haven't seen many reviews of Hello Beautiful but a RUclips friend told me she hated it, so it doesn't bode too well either XD
@@Curious-Cat most people I’ve seen review Hello Beautiful loved it. I really liked the author’s first book, Dear Edward. Have you read that one? If not, I highly recommend!
