This is legitimately one of the coolest live performances I've ever seen. I still can't believe these high school kids wrote this awesome Mars Volta esque song and then performed it perfectly to rapturous applause. All /mu/ memes aside, I would be psyched if these lads got back together and cut some new material.
I was wracking my brain trying to remember the name of this video, so I searched "hey this is pretty good not cringe at all" and this was the first result.
All jokes aside, this is actually kind of cool. Ten minutes of psych/avant-garde/noise rock passages performed by high schoolers on the gymnasium stage. We all wish we were as cool as them.
The fact that so many comments and replies still name Time Machine Modulus as "the most pretty good or not cringe at all" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by talent show success. Time Machine Modulus is less cringey than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the least cringey. No wonder they will think that Time Machine Modulus never did anything worthy of being called "cringe".

I’ve watched this performance so many times over the years since I’ve known about it and it’s so badass. Wish my school’s talent shows went this hard
If I could go back in time to see a band perform live, this would genuinely be one of my first picks alongside _77 Boadrum_ by Boredoms. I can't begin to imagine what this sounded like if you were there in person. You can tell the crowd was into it from how wild they are throughout the video (especially at the end).
We need to set up a crowdfund to get the band back together, a full-length album made and a world tour organised. Humanity needs Time Machine Modulus more than ever.
I'm always fucking impressed by the bassist's balance and technical skill as a musician every time I see 7:40 being able to switch two pedals at the same time on-beat and immediately transitioning into a solo segment is a fucking difficult thing to do.
