Most comprehensive Nirvana guitar and tone channel that ever was!! Thanks for doing and documenting what would be my dream to do so I can live vicariously through your videos!!!
bro you're honestly the goat when it comes to nirvana tone and gear accuracy keep up the good work
😭 🙏 That seriously means a lot, thank you so much for watching!
Bro the neck on all apologies sounds exactly like the studio version to me you blow my mind every vid
Yeah the neck is closest
man I love that Dave clip from the rock and roll hall of fame. also, the bridge & neck out of phase sounds incredible with distortion!
LOL I love throwing that in there when I play In Bloom in a sound demo 😉 Even though Kurt only ever used the bridge position, there's a lot of great sound combinations with this guitar!
@@NirvanaGuitars that's CHAD!
@NirvanaGuitars , hasn't Kurt ever used other pickup positions in the entire career?
@@timson067 he used neck on Polly and I think on about a girl at reading
Best nirvana guitar RUclipsr I love ur videos man keep it up
🥹 🙏 Can't thank you enough!
Frogstomp mentioned????

😉

Beautiful build duder
Another great video, Kurt would be proud. Your tone replications are amazing! Love from Australia
Your vids make me happy because i would love to have one of these for myself but seeing you play one is enough for me 👍👍🔥🔥🔥
These recreation videos you do never cease to amaze me, man, they always sound so damn close to the original tones. Keep it up, man
Loved the dave part at 15:17 Sick build man!!
I had a early jagstang, I modded it with what I thought maybe Kurt wouldve liked. Added a Dimarzio X2n in the bridge and a JB little bastard JR in the neck. This was without knowing what he actually had in the guitar. I used to rewire the switches all the time usually had them coil tap the pickups.
Also flipped the tailstop and bolted down the trem using washers so it best matched the Jagstang set up as I could see it in videos.
It was a early run 95 Jagstang and sadly I lost it in a fire in 2016 but I played the hell out of it the entire time I had it.
This is so cool! I’m actually very interested about the journey your replica had, going from a brand new signature to a 1:1 replica is so cool and inspiring!
Great job. I love it!
Hi, I want to say that you have very cool videos, they inspire me in many ways. With your help, I was finally able to figure out a lot of things, thank you for releasing the video. (Sorry if it's impossible to read, I'm writing from a translator)
Keep up the work brother ❤ from Australia
Thanks really enjoyed this video and well all the ones you have made especially documenting sky stang 1
Thank you so much! I still can't believe I was able to make that documenting Skystang I video 😭
@NirvanaGuitars it's amazing one of your videos or mentioned I think Roseland ball room in ny show was in 93 I had a ticket to that show but was sick so I was like next time I kicked my self after that again thank you my current mustang early 90's mustang and one I got on ebay salts version orig 69 with stripe matching headstock
Hell yeah a New video! Can’t wait to watch it!
Hope you enjoy!
@@NirvanaGuitarsI sure did dude! Awesome video, loved it!🎸🎸( also love what you did there at 15:17 lol)
i swear you already had one. but amazing build + video, keep it up man!
This guitar sounds monstruous, the JB has such a huge sound, and I really like the neck + bridge out of phase sound, it would be a great overdub sound
awesome video
Love the video and the tones❤ a cool series idea could be you teaching how to play some of their solos accurately especially serve the servants i've learned the solo but it just doesn't sound like his or yours❤️
This is amazing! Love your Instagram. Love your channel. It's Always something fascinating and I learn a piece of Nirvana history every single day because of you
Thank you so much! The support really means a lot, glad my content has been informative 😃
Love the bridge & neck out of phase with distortion, it sounds like the guitar is growling especially in Breed.
Your videos are ace! Best nirvana RUclips channel easy
🥹 🙏 Thank you so much! That really means a lot
one of my favorite guitars of all time, great video. i was hoping for an updated gear video like you did last year for kurts birthday. it seems fitting given that your Nirvana gear collection has quite a bit within the last year. maybe we can even get to see some of your collector's items for vinyl's, singles, cassette tapes ect. if thats something you're interested in doing.
I will for sure be putting out an updated Nirvana gear collection video soon! I was going to on Kurt's birthday, originally I wanted that to be an annual video I always did on Feb 20. But then the VMA Strat stuff came up, and I had to prioritize that haha. But it's coming!
@@NirvanaGuitars I can understand, its not everyday you get to see a Kurt guitar like that. maybe you could do the updated video around the 5th of april to remember Kurt, but anytime is fine! cant wait!!
its so cool how you have figured out all the exect specs that kurt used. i wonder how you find this stuff out
Bridge pickup sounds perfect
Hey man, I would love a video on Kurt's telecasters. he had 2, one in 1992, and one in 1994. The first one was the one that was destroyed and thrown in the crowd at san paulo in 1993, and then neck of it was retrieved by one of the RHCP crew. The second one he had was made after his coma in rome, and was probably the last electric guitar he played in his own time. I just thought the story was cool, and that making a replica would be a great video!
Love your videos
I recently made myself a Skystang out of a Classic Vibe Mustang, and it's becoming my favorite guitar.
wow amazing recreation
Thank you!
Incredible video. Was actually pretty touching to watch it after thinking through Kurt's influence on me on the 30th anniversary of their last show. Actually, this channel has gotten me back into Kurt's guitar gear, and guitars in general. I'm trying to pick it up again after taking a few years off. Out of curiosity, how has shaving down the pickup switches affected the guitar? Does it feel different to play? How to you switch pickups on and off, and is it much harder than before?
This is the most thorough Nirvana channel out there. Channel needs more love.

Thank you for bringing so much knowledge about Nirvana, Brazilian greetings.
Hi congratulations for your channels and videos, always very beautiful, complete in which you learn a lot and know more and more things. I wanted to ask you if you could please sometimes make a video in which from the beginning you prepare pedals and set up guitars, amplifier tones to play and have the sound of Kurt and Nirvana, because I don't always succeed. It would be a very nice thing for everyone, even for those who are starting to approach the world of Nirvana and Kurt as an artist. Always continue like this
Awesome as always!!! And i was wondering, are you going to redo your live at the paramount video now that you have a twin reverb??
Soooo good
please make a heart shaped box lesson 😢 you are one of the most accurate players on youtube
watching this while enjoying my coffee. thx
Thanks for watching! 🎸 ☕️
you're the best bro❤
Incredible video! Do you have any music recommendations? Stumped and looking for some great new music
Fricken love this guitar! It will always be an icon for the In Utero Era of Nirvana! 😍
Yes 100%!
You're god when it comes to Nirvana tone. Also I recently came up with idea can you play all nevermind riffs but instead of ds-2 use russian big muff.I would be thankful if you will do it
Lovely video again, Eric! Might steal the Floyd neck shim thing when I need to shim a neck lol
💇♂️ 😉
Floyd The Barber is a top 3 Nirvana song.
I've always held out hope they played it at least once during the In Utero tour, considering they supposedly played Love Buzz once. Hell, they did Dive completely spontaneously at the Barney show!
That Dive performance gives me so much hope for other random one off performances that may be hiding in unsurfaced shows from this tour 😮
Bro I love your videos
Thank you so much!
I hope you see this, I love your skystang build, it looks perfect, also I have a question about your bridge pickup, while playing clean, if you strike the strings too hard, does it add a tiny amount of breakup? It happens to me and I don't know if its the pickup or the amp.
Hi
Love your videos for me, a Nirvana fan they’re just brilliant and you seem so passionate about it. Thanks!
What’s better pedal for in utero sound Boss DS1 or DS2?
Could you please some day recreate the tone for endless nameless🙏🙏🙏
Hi! I really love your video but i want ask you when you can do a video about the pedals of nirvana, bye
great video, i thought for out of phase the switches had to be facing opposite sides, not both towards the neck?
Did you lock down the tremolo? And thanks for that link.just bought my pick guard!!
applause for the best nirvana yter🙌🙌🙌
🥹 🙏
My favorite tone is the bridge with the neck out of phase
i will buy skystang 1 at Khrist store probably next month i can’t wait 😭
I gotta know: are you ever going to do a Ferrington build?
I know it's not as immediately recognized because it was a studio/home use only guitar but it was Kurt's baby for a number of years and what he did most of his writing on. (You already know all this but writing for my own sake and for random people's)
Thanks for the demonstration ;-) I have the "Fiesta Red" , in Fender Model from 2012...I imagine that the sounds are exactly the same as the skystang?
Yes theoretically it should!
I remember when the KC signature mustangs came out and I remember being on the fence about spending the 1200 or whatever it was for it at the time. I almost pulled the trigger on it but I didn't and boy do I regret it now! Everytime I see one it makes me sick knowing how close I came to buying one. I know I'll regret that for the rest of my life. I wish they would do a reissue even if it's for just one year. Wishful thinking.
Nice ! Man i want to make a cheaper squier version....where to start 😢 lol
Oh man.. let's hope they (fender) bring the reissue of a SkyStang Signature OR even a replica.. some day.. in the 20's pleeeease :( !
Do you have any full song covers? Because I like to sing when you play
Fender custom shop would be jealous!
If Jim Vincent used a dremel tool the switches were probably sanded, not cut. A dremel usually has a small cylinder wrapped in sand paper that spins very fast
Dremels have tons of attachments, including discs for cutting. Not just sanding drums
Ah ok sorry i though it was mostly just sanding things, that's all I've seen anyway
Hey, can you do an in depth look at tou know youre right and how to replicate the intro?
You are best guitarist in the world🎸🎸🎸😉
What pedal did you use for heart shaped box? Sams or ds2?:] thank you and love ur vids and the history info
Thank you! Sansamp in this video 😃
Have you ever considered doing the relic work on it? Or at least removing part of the waterslide like his?
Can you try to recreate the tone of Buenos Aires 1992?
I was kind of worried you were also just gonna break the strap pegs and drill extra holes into it just for the authenticity.
Please recreate the snl tone again now that you have an amp please 🙏🏻
You mentioned you were in a band, was wondering if I could check them out, I can’t fully understand the name
Hey, so, like, I'm not a pro on guitar gear, I'd rate myself a 2-10 on the knowledge scale for that stuff, but can anyone tell me why the bridge pickups tend to have a much fuller and louder sound than the neck pickups? Does it depend on humbucker/single coil, etc. or something? Thanks in advance, and love the video, man.
I absolutely love your content and you have inspired me to make my own skystang 1, I am going to use a squier cv mustang. I just dont know yet how to replicate the pickgaurd, can you help or can anyone help?
Thank you! I got my pickguard from Lomic Guitars, as shown in this video www.ebay.com/str/lomicguitars
@@NirvanaGuitars It says theyre all sold out already
It only shows that for buyers outside the US which aren't available yet
Since I can’t get my hands on fenders replica of the mustang, what model of mustang should I get for a build in your opinion Eric?
Hello Jealousy!
Good day bro! How is the wiring if i install a seymour duncan on a bridge? For the stock pickup it’s only black and white. But for the seymour duncan it’s bare, white, black, green red? Can you help me on this? Appreciate it.
Do we have any idea what kind of wood was used on the body of Skystang I??
You should’ve gotten Earnie to rub the logo on your pickup!
Didn’t have that pickup with me when I was with him, but damn that would’ve been next level!
Do you think that a fender traditional ll mustang in daphne blue would make a good skystang build?
I have a KC signature that I think in doing the same. Did you have to drill for the Nashville TOM conversion? Is it the only irreversible mod?
Let's goo
Quick question about the pickguard mounting, and apologies I'm a bit of a guitar noob. It looks like the pickguard is cut to the shape of the JB, so was your mustang routed before for the black JB? (Is the new white JB just sitting on the wood body?)
would you build the black angled humbucker strat?
Hi, do you know how to change the scale of strings on a mustang? and what can I expect when i set up a mustang. I would be very grateful if I hear an answer, since I looked through the entire Internet and did not find anything similar about set up a Mustang.
I was shocked when Heart Shaped Box came in and sounded almost exactly the same.
You should make replica of skystang 1 ,2 and 3
awesome!
Thanks!
1st btw love this guitar, my favorite ever
Hi man, by chance did you ask ernie if he filed the saddles of the tune-o-matic on the outer strings to compensate for the mismatched radius (14’ bridge / 7.5’ neck) to solve playability / intonation issues. It’s the thing i’ve always wanted to know about kurt’s guitars.
You can see in the Julien's pictures the saddles are pretty deeply filed. Whether it matched the radius or not who knows but I'm sure it's close
@@jjporretto thanks man. Just looked at them. But it doesnt look like they’re filed, and strings alignment looks pretty flat to me. That would explain why in the video he made about the real skystang the string action looks insanely high while the bridge looks bottomed down. In the Mike Adams / Puisheen classic player jaguar review he said, even for a 9.5 radius, you’d have to file / remove so much material from the TOM saddles it would probably cause other issues, so i can understand for a 7.25 radius they’re not even trying.
Lot of speculation there that just isn't correct. Look again. E, A, and D are deeply filed. Which is plenty to radius it. I've done this many times for TOMs on 7.25" Mustangs, it's not hard for any tech to do. Action height (.1" at 12th fret) was really high primarily because the truss rod was very loose: .04-.05 by Julien's estimate whereas .01 is ideal. Correcting that would bring the action to a normal range. Has nothing to do with filing saddles.
@@lomicguitars212that makes sense. The neck is outta whack being in storage for 30 years.
Wait has that screw in-between the pickups always been there?? No way that's always been there right?
That’s awesome
Thank you!
I built one with a squier body and that same bridge but the height of the strings are just to high
@fender please, new another reissue 🙏🏼🙏🏼
🤞
Are hotrails close enough to replicate Nirvana tones? I have a strat that's only a single coil set up
Could you please tell us the specific pack of nylons you have on your stella harmony h912?
Hey I make guitar videos too and I was wondering what you do for the audio and video and how you put them together
I do all my video editing in Final Cut Pro
Nice!
Thank you!
🔥🔥🔥
Does Kurt always have his guitar on bridge?
