And they use NO musical accompaniment either. Also unlike the Catholics, you won’t be ordained if you can’t sing. So I’m sure they have years of voice lessons. There is an ancient very famous school of chant in kyev that’s turns out the best male singers too.
I come here year after year when I am truly missing my father. May he rest in eternal peace and God's memory. This hymn is such comfort to me when I feel my loss down to my my bones.
Blessed are you, Lord God of our salvation, to you be praise and glory forever. As a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief your only Son was lifted up that he might draw the whole world to himself. May we walk this day in the way of the cross and always be ready to share its weight, declaring your love for all the world. Blessed be God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Blessed be God forever. Amen.
Memory eternal for all our departed loved ones, may God rest their beautiful souls..Moved to tears over the loss, and the music. Will never stop loving them, miss them every day, I thank God for their beautiful love for me.
The Awe of God is best illustrated through hymns like this. You feel it through every fiber of your being. Truly beautiful beyond compare. I feel closer to something greater listening to this.
@@thomasshelby5850 I was fascinated by the real life person that was Anatoly Dyatlov, as it turns out he was widely misinterpreted and not-so-rightfully shown as a cruel person in the series themselves.
Mr. Pasjukov and Mr.Miller will always be my favorite basso profondos Their singing reminds me of the singing of elder churchmen that I loved as extra "grandfathers": unmistakable masculinity and powerful, passionate sincerity, combined occasionally with touching signs of human imperfection. Thus I have grieved for Mr. Pasjukov with some of the feeling of loss I have felt for "singing grandfathers" who have passed... but this recording has brought me comfort. Thank you Nigel and Mr.Miller
I am really sorry for your loss George. I understand where you are coming from. We all deal with grief in our own way. When my mother passed away in 2008, I took to travelling to ease my soul. Miss her still after all these years. The pain of her passing has diminished, but her memory has not. I am sure you will find the strength you need, however hard it may be. And faith, too. I send you best wishes, Nigel

What is considered basso profundo? These voice types are divided up by vocal range, tessitura, tone, volume, and even based off of famous Operatic roles. A Basso Profundo refers to the lowest Bass singer with at least a C2 on the bottom.
Priviet Nigel. I never heard Вечная память by Miller & Valaam. Of course, ANYTHING with either (and preferably both together!) is simply fabulous... Thank You so much for your wonderful contribution in demonstrating our Sacred Russ Orthodox Music!
A book by Carolly ERICKSON brought me here, entitled "Alexandra - The Last Tsarina". Tsar Alexander III's funeral is described; this choral work was sung during the entombment. An amazing piece of music.
Wow what a heavy chant it vibrates the whole body inside almost like a Buddhist hymn.. I'm sure that's what it's meant to do to get the whole body involved
Deacon: In a blessed falling asleep, grant, O Lord, eternal rest unto Thy departed servant (Name) and make his/her memory to be eternal! Choir: Memory eternal! Memory eternal! Memory eternal!
@Pin Nip No. A Basso Profundo is just a bass with an unusually low lower range. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basso_profondo for definitions. And what he is singing here has *nothing* in common with the Tibetan chant, he is singing actual words of a prayer that God grant the departed eternal memory. The choir then simply repeats "Eternal memory" three times. This is done in every Orthodox Burial service or Requiem (Pannikhida).
There is no doubt that orthodox choirs are the best ones in the world. Period.
Arguable with catholic classical music but opinion is respectable. I love both.

His voice is deeper than my entire existence
Thats an okatvist which is a very rare vocal range that is extremely low and is lower than a g1 i believe
