Thought it was crazy… i was soo young.. and by the time i was 17/18 he returned..Which seemed crazy at the time but in hindsight, it wasn’t really a long hiatus at all .. but going from 11 yo to 18 years old, a-lot changes for you.
Harlem World is one of my all time favorite albums ever. The flow of each track is perfect. The skits are ALL necessary. And there are some real dope messages Mase delivers.
Made one of the best ever, a lot of rappers stole their style and swag from him. He often gets overlooked because he left the game early but he’s a super important pioneer in hip hop
LEGEND Had hip hop on lock in the mid/late 90s. But don’t sleep on his Murda Ma$e era. His debut album was one if my favourites of all time. New sub from 🇬🇧 UK.
I was 10 yrs old back in '97 when Ma$e was "that dude" and he was definitely my favorite rapper at the time. I saw an old Pusha T interview the other day where he actually says Mase was his favorite rapper at one point in time too, alot of rappers actually have a lot of respect for his lyrical skills, he's such a goofy tho he makes it hard to be a fan
21:00 And then when Ma$e made his comeback to rapping his first feature was on Kanye West's song Jesus Walks Remix which was a prefect song for him to start his return to rap on due to him having been a minister
Mase one of my favorite rappers but I honestly prefer the Murda Mase type shit over the rest of his discography. That 10 years of Hate mixtape is flawless
When I tell you I love Mase..But I love me some Mase! Every time I see him I just smile. He just has such a cool, calm charm that I love and his mellow flow was perfect for the time. Everything happens for a reason and it’s not for everyone too understand but he followed his own path and he left the game early. He did all he could have done at the time and his heart told him to bow out. I was sad but happy for him. Especially when you see how Biggie was murdered, Tupac and more around that time..I wouldn’t question him on leaving that life behind… He got way from Diddy and got away from the industry with his life and sanity. I’m happy him and Cam are cool because they are too funny together. I do enjoy their show as well. No matter what Mase does, musically or not. I’m just happy to see him, still chill, cool and mellow.
If mase and cam had stuck together it wouldn’t be mase leaving hiphop because of evil Diddy and Diddy messed up lot of musicians temporarily like loon and shyne and Craig Mack
I gotta admit Puffy did a good job making Mase seem like a good ol choir boy. I had no idea about his previous hardcore raps..probably bc Google wasnt really around back then lol
As a fan, can’t lie sometimes I wish you would go beyond music because everybody else give false information along with adding their own bs to it. You give it not only the right way but you never add your personal bs to it. Still here though and love the growth. Keep going.
That thing Funk said is sus ag now in days but back then men were secure of their masculinity and no one took it the way this generation takes everything now in days. Mase Came to My Church In L.A as a Guest speaker/Pastor Back in the day when he first stopped rapping...Church Of The Harvest... I remember Vividly He Said He Doesn't Want to Go to Hell That's Why He Stopped 😮
Even while being a pastor and out the limelight mase was and probably still is a ghostwriter and I’m not talking about these new age ghostwriters that secretly want the spotlight I’m talking paying 1-3mil name not attached and the artist don’t even know who wrote it , if only yall know the amount of hit songs he is responsible for throughout years how many Grammys niggas won because of him 😂😂 I’m happy he is back out and him and cam reconnected their show is amazing
16:22 A lot of rappers used to call each other daddy back then. It was really just New York rappers, guess it was their slang back then but it's super weird to hear them say it now when you go back to old interviews, freestyles & songs. Sean Combs had everyone calling him Puff Daddy
I do not care if you do not follow Christianity or any religion. You do not mock or make fun of it. Or use it as your personal, get out of harm’s way card. Mase should be ashamed of himself. He will have a short talk with the Almighty. When he says, DEPART FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😇🙏❤️👍🤗

What did you think when Ma$e retired in 1999?
1999 was a bad year for bad boy
At the time I thought it was wild but the more I learn about Diddy it makes me think he was trying to separate himself from bad boy.
Made tried to save himself with God's word and love.
They left him seventy of Bloods everyone left him, he had ppl Deal had to come & get him that's why he left

He couldn't miss that year! Truly was on fire
Yeah Ma$e and Bad Boy had the rap game on lock in 97-98.
Fasho ma$e flow is water 💯🔥
Foh😂😂😂😂 he was okay. Definitely nothing special. X, Nas and even tho I don’t care for him: jay z was better than mase back in 97-98
@@rickyrichreacts9667 speak for yourself fam. Mase was amazing in 97.
What if Mase had not retired , and end up unalive? Walking away save him from the Bad Boy curse. And now he and Cam get to make bread together.
