Wow that was really hard, haha. I searched this up cause today in my neuroscience class we talked about dichotic listening and I wanted to see how it worked/how I would do. Cool stuff!
I Know this answer comes late, but in neuroscience there is a phenomenon where you look at the "lateralization of the brain". In regard to language this means, that most people fall into a category, where they tend to be "right ear, aka. left hemiphere dominant" in regard to language, or at least auditory input. Then we have most of the left-handed people, who typically show the opposite tendency. And lastly we have a small group of people that, for reasons I am not qualified to try and explain, does not seem to be "lateralized" and therefore experience trouble with dichotic test, for example. That said, some cognitive scientists would be likely to explain away this phenomenon with theories about attention. So then again, maybe you brain is actually lateralized but you have trouble with your selective attention - focusing your attention exactly where you want it when you want it. Hope that helps a little bit :)
Idk, I don't think it's a bad thing! I can hear multiple things at once. I'm actually downloading audio books and listening to one in each ear at the same time!
My problem with the first one is that I couldn’t remember any of the words cause my memory sucks. The words and numbers, I didn’t remember the numbers, just that one side was words and the other was numbers.
I was tracking the right-hand side and correctly remembered pizza. however, Thought the last word was tonight Where the listed the end revealed it was the word two. may have just blended the last two words said on each speaker.
Hi ! i'm french and i'm studying psychology in university (lately but in France we say better late than never). i'm working on this topic for my exams happening in one week ... cause we have nothing like that in french ... so i tried to do the exercices ... but as it's not my language it's useless to say how difficult it was ! so difficult that i finally only focused on your beautiful face !!!! :D :D :D (take this just for a compliment) and thanks for your work !!
I tried this then forgot the instructions so I had to rewind wjdjfjfg btw I’m doing this because I wonder if I have adhd... been wondering for 7 years and never had the chance to diagnose.
I'm getting both. I pay attention to one at a time, but I can process one and quickly process the second one before it leaves my sensory memory. Is that possible? becuase I missed only a single word on the first trial
The left side monologue sounded twice as loud. I had problems hearing even when I looked on the right side.

You've worked so hard for the video! Very useful and gripping! Helped a lot! I'm wondering how much would have gone behind the scenes... Superb!
Your vid was used in our first year university psychology class. Really helpful vid!
Same here
how come I am unable to drown one side out and only focus on one? I'm hearing both equally no matter how hard i try.
same
