'Silberfäden / 'Silver Threads', our latest Tenor Sax Duet - Some melodies really tear at the emotions and this one did it for me especially when we included a sweet close harmony. I always seem to get choked up just playing it. It was a hit vocal song from the late 40's, but written long before that. It was then covered by many bands and soloists in Germany over the years, quite often on Sax. It tells the story of an aging Mother with silver hair and the love of her children around her....... We based our arrangement on the typical German Schlager style with it's sugary sounds and lush reverb.....
