- During the defamation trial on Thursday, Johnny Depp's business manager Edward White testified that Depp spent over $14 million on his divorce with Amber Heard. White stated that Depp paid $500k to Heard's legal counsel, $6.8m directly to Heard, and all the community liabilities that accumulated during their marriage.

As the buisness manger tried to say twice, that would have meant to pay the bill he would have had to pay over $30m total. $14.25m to scamber and the rest to the IRS. @@communingwithGod actually no. In court you have to answer the specific question specifically. This guy a couple of times strayed beyond that requirement. Don't get me wrong, I understand why, but it's Rottenborn's job (even though he sucks at it) to prevent that from happening by calling an objection. Once he does that it is upto the Judge to rule on whether the objection is righteous or not. If it isn't the witness is allowed to continue.
The issue is that Rottenborn has now called 2 hearsay objections on witness' giving evidence to things he did and both times the judge slapped him down for it.

At this point the only reason the judge is allowing this nonsense is probably because she’s never seen a legal team failing so hard she is just enjoying the show.

I agree mostly but I would not say that AH’s lawyers are necessarily incompetent. I assume they understood the merits of AH’s case against JD and decided to take an aggressive approach to trip up JD or any witnesses that might say something supportive of JD. JD’s lawyers can be more polite and comparatively relaxed as they seem to have better evidence to work with.
I really like the careful, considered way the accountant and psychologist answered AH’s lawyers.
Lord she certainly got a big payday for a little effort!

I’ve served on a jury for a very serious case that took over 5 weeks and I’ve heard more objections, hearsay’s , sustained’s etc. in this 10 minute clip than my 5 weeks let alone all the others that have been announced over the last 10+ days….surely this can’t be normality in the US court? Ireland is by no means a shining example on legality but this carry on just seems farcical to me and trying to devoid logic and reason?
You realize every trial is different right? And the budget of the plaintiff and the defendant is also a huge part in the quality of legal defense afforded. Therefore making a much more complex legal situation. You can’t just compare your 1 situation to every single case in a court system 😂😂😂

I've never seen a judge sustain so many objections.
They may have been objected and sustained but the jury and everybody else knows exactly where those questions were going and why they were objected to. Despite the rules of the court, it definitely will be on the minds of those deciding at the end.
She's also sustained equally as many if not more objections by the defence if you actually watched the examinations in full-length. Stop trying to drag everyone through the mud who isn't on Depp's legal team because you're upset. She's an impartial judge.
