They have a work ethic and they have been together for so long that it's like they can read each other's minds. You're absolutely right. Scott, Kirsten and Mitch met, sang & acted together, became friends and competed against each other in high school and summer theater groups. Kirsten has done some broadway and if you do some searches there are a lot of videos out there talking about their “younger years”. Some behind the seasons is likely on the Sing-Off season 3. I know they missed graduation I think it was to do the audition. Kevin dropped out of Yale medical school. Their backstory is as interesting as their talents. They are historical when back stage, on sets and in their spin-offs like Superfruit. If you like doing reactions to more than just music they do some great lists and tips on stuff like excuses for dumping a date, one liners, etc. they just really show us themselves off stage, having fun, being bffs, even if you don’t do reactions to them all as I know you have a family to spend time with too 😉
If you haven't already listened to their cover of "I Can't Help Falling In Love", please do. Not a big, showy piece, but it does showcase their harmonies and vocal control. It's the one piece of theirs that makes me cry. Again, thanks for a great reaction

FUN FACT: Speaking of acting, Scott, Kirstin and Mitch were celebrated with a star on the Walk Of Fame in Arlington, TX, on 3-31--23, in front of the theater where they performed musical theater as kids. They had just wrapped up the first leg of their world tour in New Zealand so they could not attend but some of their parents did attend.

They are a million times better in person than in their videos, which is really saying something. For me it's the other way around. Growing up music was not a thing. We were a TV family so I never got into music groups. When I discovered Pentatonix it changed my music world. Thru Pentatonix I have discovered so many groups I would never have know of. The funny thing is for most of these songs my first time hearing them is by Pentatonix. So for this reason Pentatonix is always my favorite version. After a Pentatonix song I do check out the original but by then I already heard the upgraded version by Pentatonix.
They were in a Perfect Pitch movie playing an acapella group! I also just read that they are in an upcoming movie called Meet Me Next Christmas with Christina Milian coming out later this year.

Run to you is THE best harmony's they have ever done and Sing has the same kind of vibe as Can't hold us. Pentatonix, is in my opinion the GOAT when it comes to singing!!!! He can also play the sax and you can find videos of him playing it when he was younger. You can also find Scott and Mitch have their own channel and album. It’s very funny. Scott plays piano.
They did personalize a little of the rap for them. Kirstie mentions Broadway ( she was on Broadway in a show) Mitch mentions Texas. I simply find this fun and shows they are willing to try different genres and types of music.
Each person in the group picked out a theme for their "group" and the others got outfits for all 5 themes. A rather odd mix of outfits on the face of it.

Check out the PTX cover of Problem and do both the studio version and the liflve performance at a radio station...it's so good! And shows a really good example of their commitment to not doing a song and arrangement if they can't perform it live just as good as studio.

I recommend their "Hip-Hop Goes Broadway" episodes (two parts, plus bloopers at the very end) in which they sing lines of famous hip-hop songs, complete with dirty lyrics (tastefully bleeped out) in the style of perky Broadway show tunes; "GUY.exe" (a catchy tune and very professionally-done music video in a Rocky Horror vein); and "Frozen Medley" (a thrown-together musical filmed in someone's living room, featuring Kirstie and complete with weird wigs and the fakest snow ever -- also has hysterical bloopers at the end.)
