I love what you said at the end that the best Bible translation is the one that you read. Amen to that.
GNB w/o illustrations is like a PB&J without the J! The Alabaster paperback Bible books have photos on the cover (and throughout) and look quite nice, I picked up a few when thrifting not long ago. But they're quite expensive brand new.

I wonder if the biblical text of this Roman Catholic edition differs in any way from the standard Good News Bible?
Also, on the hard cover edition, is it normal practice for a RC bible to identify those "Bonus Books" as Apocryphal? That seems unusual.
