Don't be like the wicked and slothful servant! Think about what God has given you , and consider that you ought help spread the word of God and help in people coming to the knowledge of the truth!
Okay so...we all know or get the gist of putting the talents to work...but what I'd like to know is what does it mean to at least put it with the bankers?... Thank you all for any ideas! God bless you 👉🕊️🛐✝️🐧🌵
Matthew 25 is about being prepared(5 wise virgins and 5 foolish), about spreading God's grace and mercy (the talent is a measure of weight about 75 lbs) so if it was silver or gold you can see it is immense wealth. The parable of sheep and goat is about judgement. The banker comment is that the 1 talent man could have done the bare minimum (spreading the good news), instead the 1 talent man called his master a thief (you harvest what you did not sow), but he handed back the talent and said "here, take what is yours'. In essense he rejected God's grace and mercy. Dont miss the fact that the master took away the talent from him. And then called him wicked and slothful and casted him to hell. Any time Jesus references darkness, weeping and gnashing of teeth, it means hell. The parable of the sheep and goat is the righteous ministered to the hungry, the thirsty, the naked, the sick, the prisoner, the stranger. And whatever we did to the least of my brothers you did unto me. The goats may have believed, but they didn't practice mercy and tend to those less fortunate (Jesus repeats this message in the parable of the Rich man and Lazarus). So in summary, be prepared in faith and deeds (oil) so you are spritually ready, spread the good news of God's grace and mercy, and minister to those less fortunate. Isnt Christianity beautiful?
A talent back in Jesus's time was a unit of currency. I believe it was about 6,000 denarii which meant it was a large sum of money. Many people mistakenly think it's what we think of a talent as today.
The master giving his servants talents is similar to the Father giving us special gifts and talents to share with the world and brings more to Jesus. Will we go out and produce fruit or burry our gifts and not use them for the Lord. Don’t be like the servant who buried his talent and returned it back to his master.
@CUNT888you’ve dedicated your life to proving God doesn’t exist 😂 that sounds like you believe in God more than others. I get you have a hate towards God though, when your life is filled with misery and pain, it’s only understandable.
The parable of the talents is about God giving all BELIEVERS their rewards and crowns and the unbelieving who are the UN profitable servants, hellfire. The Lord offers ALL people his son (talent) Some multiply their gift of God throughout life. Some (unbelievers) do nothing with Christ. They are the unprofitable. Those believers who are profitable will be given crowns and rewards at the Bema seat judgement. The un profitable will be judged at the Great White Throne judgement. All believers have the ability throughout life to put to good use what Christ has given us. The unprofitable servant viewed the Lord as a HARD man. He had a different perception of the Lord than the others. He failed to understand Gods love, mercy and grace, that he gives freely. Never cared to find out and HID his talent, went through life never retrieving it .
1 Timothy 2:3-5 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 WHO WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE. Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Romans 10:14-15 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
You need to explained more people think it that it talked about literally money to invest? People who don't have spirit to understand and also the first timer Christian.
Its about faithfulness. Our master jesus gives us life and makes each one of us unique. If we live for God, we will not waste this life. And in the end we will not be cast away.
He wants people to go back to work but also says, the crime rate is up. If he’s concerned with a couple of homeless people in his fancy neighborhood, imagine being surrounded by them when trying to get to your work building.

I’ve been praying asking God about this question myself! I think it’s an excellent question. Who are the bankers?

@Flux_40you simply lack understanding don't write off an entire book because you don't understand a singular verse

What does this parable mean?
Its about faithfulness. Our master jesus gives us life and makes each one of us unique. If we live for God, we will not waste this life. And in the end we will not be cast away.
What bank did they have 2 thousand yeas ago. A hole in a ground was a bank
