nobody underrated him. simply there are another Tosin in evrery town on earth. thanx to internet every kid can learn everything for free. thats why youtube is full of unknown kids with amazing skills. Tosin will be surpassed in a few years, like every other supreme master in any walk of life.
Javier deserves just as much praise as Tosin. I love how he brings his latin flavor to metal while Tosin brings his jazz and funk influence. Both are by far my favorite guitarists.
Actually it's Javier who influenced Tosin to play on the Jazzy side(Javier is a former classical jazz guitar player) because Tosin was more on progressive metal style
@@leledreher I agree, I definitely don't think he is discredited. the reason I say it though is because it seems that when people think AAL or thumping or finger picking progressive metal the first person brought up is always Tosin. obviously for good reason he is an all time great imo, but sometimes I feel Javier deserves more of a spotlight too
I love them both. But since Mestis is Javier's project it definitely showcases his personal flavors a little more. He also seems to reel you in with a more approachable melody/rhythm in contrast to the sometimes confusing, or complex nature of AAL. It's more listenable to an audience that may be inexperienced with these styles of misic
