Den här låten är absolut fantastisk! Blev kär i henne och hennes musik för några månader sen. Tyvärr så många svenska sångerskor väljer sjunga på engelska nuförtiden :/ Varma hälsningar från Finland :)
Wow, I love northern european music, they actually know how to make good music, pop, electronic etc, it doesn't matter the genre, they're always great.
This song is deeper and sadder than people think. It not only captures the pain of a love gone sour but also the isolation and despair one is bound to experience in the modern world. There is something wrong with how we’ve built our society.
It's all a nice looking facade. Once you step behind it you will realize that it's a cold empty shell surrounded by judgmental fake puppets. No one dear to think for themselves, everyone dresses the exact same and follow a strict boot camp-like social code and whatever you do, never ever criticize anyone or anything they say or stand for straight to their face.
I was in the audience of this one Finnish show called Bettina today and Veronica played this song there. She played it even three times(to make a flawless performance). I think i will never forget that moment! :333
Doesn't matter where she's from, but I gotta say that the Swedish language has a certain charm to it. And Veronica made this song sound like magic. I'll be stuck on this for some time now.
"Sergels Torg" is "Sergel's Square" in english. Sergel's square is a central public square in Stockholm, sometimes referred to as "The Slab", hence the opening lyrics in this song; "Over the slabs of Sergel's Square". It is widely associated with drug dealers and homeless people, hence the expression "end up at the slab", meaning that you're addicted to drugs. This song seems to be about lost love and separation, and maybe Sergel's Square is meant to be some kind of metaphor for failure.
Though the storm is coming I stand where I always have been standing I wipe away a single tear You turn around and leave as if it never even happened I watch the stars still shine My heart might stop beating but the film restarts anyway
Her lyrics are actually often quite simple. The genius (at least if you ask me) of it all lies in the various idiomatic expressions, word-play and old - as well as more recent - cultural references that may be hard to both translate and understand if you weren't brougplay and old, as well as new cultural references that may be hard to undht up in Sweden. But if you still would like a translation, I would glady provide it for you.
Translation to English (although in my honest opinion this great song can only be truly appreciated in its original language): Over the slabs of Sergel Square where the sky is heavy with sadness I just wait, even though I already know Lowering my head If you one day would look back [You would realize that] everything's gone back to zero Rain is pouring on us now but the film restarts over and over
"A post-apocaliptical spanish turistic town devastated after the economical crisis being visited by lonely scandinavian turists." It seems accurate for me. Jag älskar henne då.
Above the tiles at Sergels Torg Where the sky is full of sorrow I wait, though I am well aware Lowering down my head Well if you were to look back some time Everything's back at square zero Now the rain falls over us And the film repeats again When all is done Does it matter In a hundred years When we're back at square zero I know that you You want it so Buut, does it fucking matter at all? If it can't even be you and me? What is there then to care about Above the tiles at Sergels Torg Though it's gonna blow up to a storm I stand where I've always stood I wipe away a single tear You just turn around and leave As if it never happened I still see the shining stars Even though my heart might stop The movie just repeats again When all is done Does it matter In a hundred years When we're back at square zero I know that you You want it so Buut, does it fucking matter at all? If it can't even be you and me? What is there then to care about Above the tiles at Sergels Torg The streets are empty, there's nothing to see Nothing's forgotten There isn't anything you can do about that All aaat once One more time... One more time... When all is done Does it matter In a hundred years I know that you You want it so I understand But does it fucking matter at all? If it can't even be you and me? What is there then to care about Right above tiles at Sergels Torg When all is done Does it matter In a hundred years Above the tiles at Sergels Torg I know that you You want it so I understand Above tiles at Sergels Torg What is there then to care about? This was my best attempt to make a translation that also matches the syllibles and length, so English speakers can sing along. The literal translations end up being too long or short for most lines to match.
Såg verkligen fram emot musikvideon & blev nu väldigt besviken. Trodde det skulle vara lite mer "Stockholm, Sergelstorg". Låten är ju sjukt bra! Första gången jag blev besviken av Veronica Maggio's musikvideor.
Kpop is no worse than the trash made in hollywood. I think the reason kpop managed to be in their market because they already lowered the standard for the koreans to capitalize on their taste.

Hi from Brazil !!!
Above the tiles at Sergels Torg
Where the sky is full of sorrow
I wait, though I am well aware
Lowering down my head
Well if you were to look back some time
Everything's back at square zero
Now the rain falls over us
And the film repeats again
When all is done
Does it matter
In a hundred years
When we're back at square zero
I know that you
You want it so
Buut, does it fucking matter at all?
If it can't even be you and me?
What is there then to care about
Above the tiles at Sergels Torg
Though it's gonna blow up to a storm
I stand where I've always stood
I wipe away a single tear
You just turn around and leave
As if it never happened
I still see the shining stars
Even though my heart might stop
The movie just repeats again
When all is done
Does it matter
In a hundred years
When we're back at square zero
I know that you
You want it so
Buut, does it fucking matter at all?
If it can't even be you and me?
What is there then to care about
Above the tiles at Sergels Torg
The streets are empty, there's nothing to see
Nothing's forgotten
There isn't anything you can do about that
All aaat once
One more time...
One more time...
When all is done
Does it matter
In a hundred years
I know that you
You want it so
I understand
But does it fucking matter at all?
If it can't even be you and me?
What is there then to care about
Right above tiles at Sergels Torg
When all is done
Does it matter
In a hundred years
Above the tiles at Sergels Torg
I know that you
You want it so
I understand
Above tiles at Sergels Torg
What is there then to care about?
