Hooray you are trying them :) You can setup bands as constant compression or some slack till extension just use lower shock mount and a lower hole on the chassis for slack. Same with not knowing tension/spring weight adjustable by raising or lowering a hole on the chassis. 100% correct very rarely needed for most rigs ! never a go to, never a need.... till you finally explore all other options.
I think I lucked out again, as these are bands for 90mm, and 2660s are 85mm. So I got the benefit of that lil' bit of slack, and noticed very little in the way of loss of compliance.
I've been using elastic bands for a while to achieve the same results, really cheap alternative and you can double up or use different sizes to tune your suspension. With a post office just round the corner you have easy access to as many as you like! ;)
Good review! In my experience, these bands have made an overall improvement on any/every external spring shock I’ve tried. The only time I would not recommend them is with dual (opposing) spring setups like what is typical with Desert Lizards.
Is the title in ALL CAPS? I bet it's in all caps. Looking at the tread blocks, it looks like everything old is new again-- those are just ProLine Bow Ties from like 20 years ago, made in a 1.9".
I had a weekly dumb thought. If cut n siped is good, more cutted n more siped is more gooder? Can we see a big tread ju k tire cut to ribbons... see if or how much it improves?
I like to put an elastic band from the center of my front axle to the chassis. I think it henders articulation less, as the band is only approximately half extended when the axle is fully "flexed" in either direction. I test tension mainly by lifting the chassis while level and seeing that the axle achieves maximum droop, then lifting the front of the rig (axle hanging free), where I should see the axle retacted by the band significantly around 60-70° of tilt. This is easiest to achieve with a band of higher "spring rate" so the tension only really ramps up near full and even extenstion. Set up this way, articutation at most inclines and droop for breakover are not noticeably affected while "unloading" of the front is noticably reduced on the steepest climbs. All of this should have less affect the more %mass is on the axle, as the shocks extending on climbs will shift less mass in the wrong direction. So it will have less effect on the average Canyon rig than on mine.
Your reviews are on a whole other level. No one I see even close, maybe Torque test channel. If you reviewing phones or Tayler Swift socks you would have millions of views. But do you have passion for swiftness?
I wouldn't classify myself as a Swifty, sadly. Sad for my potential future views, at least. There's something of a generational gap there, I think. I do remember when she had some kind of concert video/movie/memoir thing coming out on some streamer a few years back, and there was a vocal snippet where she said something to the effect of "This is the golden age of my life," and I just stared blankly at the screen. She was like... 25. I can kinda relate to Tay-Tay right there. I didn't know shit when I was 25 either.
@@CrawlerCanyon oh man I live in KC. I don’t know if follow football but this shit she been on has my news feeds just clogged up. I got an alert about the shoes he wore to work yesterday. And I can’t name one song by her. I don’t hate her, but she has the media just wrapped. I like it from here. It’s got rappers buying houses here now. Got my bbq place on world wide blast? We got whataburgers everywhere now. Hell yeah
No rubbers allowed on the Creek. Band aids are for newspapers and slingshots. Unless you give up on tuning altogether try heavier shock oil and trim some fat, works about the same
Another great video! Do you have a video on how you built your crawler hill! Like what kind of concrete mix you used? I'd like to make something like it. Thanks for your videos
I love my deez bands and Dustin is a one man band small business absolutely worth supporting
Whoo-hoo! finally received my shirt, guess I know what I'm wearing when I go crawling this weekend 😁
Thank you for sharing a good video with a nice car! 💯👍👍
Nice! probably the most unbiased test I've seen you do. Thank you sir!
Been wondering about these myself

Glad you did a review on this. I’ve seen others use them and questioned them. Looks like I’ll order a set and try them out! Thanks!!

Did you happen to see the New Powerhobby 1.9 Grabbers? They are a colab with Jetko and are a pin style tire. Exocaged RC just did a video on them.

Been using black stretchy hairbands on the shocks since day 1 on my trx4. It makes a marked difference.
What a Fantastic and Articulated video!! Good job on this !

Has to be more gooder 😂

Lol finally. Those was setup for 90mm shocks.
Awesomeness ❤
Is that a rgt body on blue sky high?

I guess I’m team swift
Newbie, I’m confused, I thought the limiting straps are mounting the front end….?.??
You can run 'em at both ends. Particularly with 4WS, as it kinda behaves as if it had two front ends.
I love my deez bands must have on serious crawler
Sounds like bandaid to me...? 😎
You state that as if there's never any instance that might warrant the use of a band-aid.
Put those bands on servos and control your front axle like a marionette 👍
Active suspension! Lotus would probably send out a C&D.
Aonther weekly dumb idea. Bigs n smalls. 2.2 fake rupture fronts, 1.9 fake rupture rears?
Hair buns now you need hair ties
Get the engineers working on potential applications for hair clips and hair nets immediately.

HELLO CANYON COMMUNITY😎😎😎
YZZR insert those for a extra extra special Crawling experience.
The set I have on hand has been... okay. Overly firm for every application I've tried them in.
Welcome to the darkside 😉🤪
