For any of you curious about personality tests, MBTI isn’t really respected scientifically (though that’s not to say it doesn’t have its merits - at least in my opinion, especially in communicative power and in character writing). Also, the 16personalities test that is most often used as a MBTI test is also not a true MBTI test. Instead, it uses the Big-Five personality test (Openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism) which is essentially the only personality test that is viewed positively by science. 16personalities maps the scores of the Big-Five to what they think corresponds to them in the MBTI. Since MBTI has 4 criteria and not 5, that is why you have XYXY-A and XYXY-T subtypes (where being turbulent/assertive correspond to how neurotic you are - I believe). Another thing about MBTI is whether you are (for example) introvert rather than extrovert means you have the preference for introversion over extroversion; this emphasis on preference takes into account being capable of both and at times both - but the part that you “default” to is what is most salient. That is why two INTPs can be very different in terms of personality, it’s not an “either/or” framework (especially seeing how it is at all reasonable to group all personalities that could exist into only 16). And proponents of pure-MBTI (I believe) would argue that “typing” people into the 16 categories shouldn’t even be done via a test, let alone a self-administered survey.
Still accurate tho and im a lazy mf and i dont understand any qeustions that like ennegram tests ask, mabey take 1 when im like older bc im 15 rn, but what i do is look and read up on mbti personality types like the actual not people typed, the characters, and people typed with it and thats gone good, i just see no reason to have it fully accurate, someones always gonna be different, yeah we have the same type but differwnt tri type or whatever, irc i just wanna have the same as someone i love
Mbti is psuedo science on the base level but if you research it in depth with the jungian functions such as Ti or Se etc. then it tends to be a more flexible system that can be useful
I like how Tucker is summoned the moment his name is spoken outloud like a primordial entity. I'd like to see an episode where for half the episode they just use synonyms to refer to him but then say his name and he joins the conversation like he was in it the whole time
This is all surface level mbti. personality database doesn't use the introverted vs extroverted et cetera stuff, so ted being typed as entj isn't because he's judging or thinking, it's about the preferred method of typing used by most mbti nerds, which is cognitive functions. You can be friendly and kind hearted by nature and still have thinking in the title, like how I'm an incredibly empathetic entp that was mistyped by that test as an infp. At the end of the day it's all a pseudoscience, but, if you want more accurate results, you can look into tests like mistype investigator

I learned about this personality test in my psychology class literally like last week. And just something I found interesting which is normally overlooked, is what introvert and extrovert actually are. People tend to think that it's just how people act around other people and how lively they are in a group. BUT it's really where you get your energy from, Extroverts get their energy from being around people. For example, someone who is considered an extrovert could go into a class in the morning tired and quiet, but as soon as they start to talk to people and have interactions, they tend to get more excited and energetic. On the other hand, Introvert get their energy from being alone. So, following the same example, a person who would be classified as an introvert could start their day super energetic and social, but they tend to get more tired and want to be quiet and alone the long they spend time around people. This leads to them needing to spend some time alone with themselves to recharge their social batteries.
Schlatt hit the nail on the head with the astrology analogy. It's just psuedointelectual generalizations on an incredibly complex topic with the addition of some surface level data collection.
The funniest thing about the "facts aren't your feelings" crowd is that they tend to be the most emotional ppl ever when determining what is and isn't fact.
as someone who is a philosophy student (unfortunately), the trolley problem that loops back around is a version of the original problem, that asks if its okay if we use someone as a means to an end. its very slightly different, but if you swap the tracks, the train running over the one person is used as a means to an end to save the five people, as if they werent there, the choice to change the path of the trolley would not matter, as it would kill the 5 people anyway
