My Angel who is 18 years old has only been able to eat one thing without throwing up - Fancy Feast Elegant Medley's Pate. I tried other things but it's kept her going strong for almost 2 decades!
With budget friendly cat food, we have to make a lot of compromises. However, we should pay attention to the macro nutrients: High protein, moderate fat and low carbs. That's the most important.
Let’s be honest. The price
I feed my cats with fancy feast classic pate occasionally. Despite of some artificial flavors and a little Meat By-Products further down on the list, this line is quite decent and has low carbs. The price is just unbeatable! I don’t feed them with Fancy Feast everyday because I don’t want them to be addicted to those artificial flavors and refuse to eat other food.
Fancy feast pate food is absolutely crucial to cats with diabetes. There are not that many foods they can eat except fancy feast. Its low in carbohydrates and high in protein.
Good to know. My vet actually feeds the seafood pate to her cats. But I also give them kibble called Purina ProPlan Probiotic Chicken and Rice, which is supposed to decrease cats’ allergenic dander. My husband, who is allergic to cats, was able to stop his asthma inhalers since switching our 5 indoor cats to this dry food.
I used to feed my cat Tiki Cat, great ingredients but expensive, so for now I switched to fancy feast. My cat turns her nose up at the pate, but apparently loves gravy lovers. It's a good option to not break the bank, but when I am able I will go back to Tiki Cat

My previous cat, would only eat Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. Didn't matter what flavor. Too many bad things in it, for my current kittens.
I have bought my cat lots of expensive higher quality wet foods and raw foods she snubs her nose at all of them! She will only eat Fancy Feast classic pate I’m tired of throwing away $3 and $4 cans of food so I just buy her Fancy Feast and add good things to it…
Beware of Fancy Feast. I had more than a few cans over the years with small bits of what I first thought were chewy pieces of tendons/fat/tissue, but eventually realized were actually chopped up bits of rubber bands. Would not feed them to cats.
I vowed for quite awhile that I was going to stick to Purina pro plan not feed her stuff like fancy feast, friskies, meow mix or 9 lives. We went into the same shortage as the formula. I had to start getting anything I could find.

Mallory, can you please review the FF Gourmet Naturals line? There are just a combination of proteins listed, like "salmon, chicken, liver, fish...nothing else.
Thanks so much for your expert videos! This is a great short! My cats, 16 & 19, quit eating the vet food, as it went in the trash daily. My vet suggested FF chicken pate classic as well. I've also added FF 7+ Chicken Pate, PurPro Chicken 11+ and Wellness senior chicken pate. Would love to see more of these shorts and your advice on senior foods. Thank you!!

Fancy Feast Pate' and also dry. Helps to get wet food in them and it's been great.
