I love your video quality. I was a NAVY Diver there in San Diego and I have dove the La Jolla shores canyon many times. I used to line up with the life guard tower and swim out to where I was in line with the end of scripts pier and head down. Once we hit bottom, about 60 feet or so we would follow till we hit the canyon at 85' to 90'. The odd thing is I have not seen a video of that location. It was like being at the edge of a cliff and it was a vertical drop straight down. It was really cool because big stuff lurked in the dark. We even encountered a pacific grey whale heading into the canyon...it was 3 feet from us before we knew he was there....HUGE. Blue sharks were common, large halibut and skates were usually the highlights of the dive. 167' was my max depth there going over the cliff and going down the face of the wall. Pretty nearly. This was in 1987. Thanks for the video.
MaverickDiving Please make a video. Line up with the life guard tall tower. I believe there was outdoor showers right there at the tower...it’s been a while since I was there. The bottom was 20’ deep forever so we would surface swim out to where we were inline with scripts pier looking North. You know if you went to far as the water would be dark below you as no sun hits the bottom. At the base of the canyon it’s fun and creepy. I miss it.
Haha just dived there yesterday and it was amazing. I also have my own footage from my GoPro if you'd like to see it but messed up on my angle a bit as it was my 1st time testing it out.
Ahh back when I didn't know what I was doing and just took a gopro diving. Hard to believe it was six whole years ago. My more recent stuff is a bit better.
