I was at that game with my sons. Halfway thru the third quarter there were no many Bear fans there. One grumbled at me as he was leaving " Good Luck in the Super Bowl ". GOPACKGO!!
Zero chance he goes into the hall of fame. He had a good 3 or 4 year run. But three thousand yard seasons, one all-pro and one pro bowl do not equal hall of fame.
Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, Desmond Howard, Reggie White, Santana Dotson, and Brett Favre. So many great players. Then they added Andre Rison, Don Beebe, and so many more. I forgot about M. Chmura, E. Bennett, W. Henderson, G. Brown, S. Jones, E. Robinson, and the original Lambeau leaper L. Butler. Man that team was LOADED. Hell they even had Jim McMahon. I had forgotten about that..lol. Not nearly as bad as Favre going to the Viqueens but still, a Super Bowl shuffles from Chicago to it's bitter RIVAL Green Bay.
We received our Packers season tickets in 1991 so we were fortunate enough to watch Brett Favre’s entire career…even when they lost the championship to the Giants. Our seats were in the DIRECT LINE of the pass Favre threw for the interception…AND I was sitting next to 3 Giants fans…it was…BRUTAL. But all of the memories are FANTASTIC!
Thank you so much for brining back memories of my childhood. This was the first football game I ever watched. This game made me a Favre fan, Packers fan, and nfl fan.
Bears always lay down and take it from the Packers whether it's on the road or at home since the 90's. The Vikings never laid down at home to the Packers, 9-1 against them in the 90's in the dome. John Randle chased Favre around the dome like he was a chicken, that Metrodome crowd gave the Vikings a jolt of energy and it was incredible to watch. I jumped out of my seat and pumped my fist a million times watching the Vikings beat the Packers in the dome.
A lot of memories of this year... thanks for posting this. As Packer fans we're spoiled we've had elite franchise quarterbacks since 92 and the Bears haven't had one since 85. I feel terrible what McMahon is going through now with his concussion/CTE symptoms. I love this game but hope we can appreciate the players enough to respect their health while they play and afterwards. If you read the articles about McMahon after retiring it's so tragic. Man, Freeman had hands!
@@Bluetlc4 um yeah, it def does. Rodgers had no pressure on him at all on his, and was able to step into his throws. Favre was under pressure and threw it rolling out of the pocket. This isn't even debatable
@@1terraforce Yep Rodgers wasn't running for his life at the time of the throw. Like you said Favre was on the run and Rodgers just stepped into his throw. Huge difference.
from NFL Films narrated by Harry Kalas Linebacker Wayne Simmons provided a literal interpretation of the term "Takeaway". one of my favorite lines from that highlight film
That 1996 Packers season highlight film was a work of art. "Like almost every game in this series, this was a tug-of-war, but it was the Packers that did most of the grappling."
6:04. I loved watching don Beebe run. You could've put a glass of water on his head when he ran and he wouldn't spill a drop. A still head, arms and legs a blur.
Bears fan here... Other than film quality (indicating it's from 90s) I couldn't pinpoint which year this was since Green Bay does this to us all the time.
You are right that is a safety...once a player touches ball on kickoff then that puts ball in possession, which he then lost ball in end zone and took a knee which should've been a safety.
Where do u get the film of the games? I never get answers from people or other utubers. Got one b4 but didnt seen anything from the nfl on the website they told me.
That play @2:44 was pretty spesh. How often would ya see a punt fake pass completion? Aussie here.... Fan of the sport but don't get to watch nearly enough games to OPINE on tactics or stats.
Hail Mary at 4:43
Right to antonio freeman
I was at that game with my sons. Halfway thru the third quarter there were no many Bear fans there. One grumbled at me as he was leaving " Good Luck in the Super Bowl ". GOPACKGO!!
That hail Mary was a line drive throw by Favre. What a play.
Thing of beauty
1996 was a special year!!!
As a Chicago Sports Fan I agree. Sure the Bears stunk but we had 72-10 Championship Bulls.
People forget how great Antonio Freeman was. This guy could definitely go in the hall of fame. He did a lot of great things during his time.

@@silverguard8105 Yep, need at least an 8-10 year run.
This was the best packers team of my lifetime
Yep! #1 in offense & #1 in defense. My favorite year of all time.

The ferocity of both defences ❤ Oh the glory days of kick returns to Hail Marys 😊😊😊

I love Madden's reaction to Freeman's diving TD catch, kills me every time XD
Thank you so much for brining back memories of my childhood. This was the first football game I ever watched. This game made me a Favre fan, Packers fan, and nfl fan.
He threw that 50 yards on the run, best arm of all time
60 yards actually, from own 45 to 5 yards into end zone.
Brett Favre and a Super Bowl team...and John Madden. Good times.

Favre didn't play well I'm any dome or indoor
Antonio Freeman is such a legend 6:45
Reminds me of my childhood ❤
That was a sick throw by the Bear's punter though
Hot damn I forgot how much I missed Pat Summerall until I saw this
It was like he had a 5 second delay on the game. Just awful, but compared to Joe Fuck n Troy Flakeman these days i miss him too!
@@scout805 dude was on point though. One of the greats!
I freaking loved Iistening to Madden and Summerall
You are everything that is good! Keep this going man, every time I watch highlights I can remember exactly where I was! Love the pack

McMahon wasn't an elite QB but he was solid.
I thought of this game after Madden passed away. Because I remember him and Pat Summerall calling this one on FOX.
Bears fans be like "yeah but those 6 points were pretty sweet tho right?"
That hail Mary blows Rodger's hail mary out of the water
Not really

Antonio Freeman- he’s a free man in the endzone

I totally forgot McMahon was a back up on this team and got another ring.
These were the days
Man, Green Bay has been spoiled with good receivers and great quarterbacks
Another Packers sweep!
BOW DOWN Chicago bears!
Freeman was the shit. Hell of a player.
Bears fan here... Other than film quality (indicating it's from 90s) I couldn't pinpoint which year this was since Green Bay does this to us all the time.
How many more years do you think this will continue?
Freeman going over the DB, just brings back to chikdhood
Hopefully this is the score of packers bears week 1 this year
Hell yeah, Go Pack Go,whip them .,( Cubbies )🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈,oh I mean bear's
Those mid nineties Packers were exciting.
One dislike....gotta be a pissed off Bears fan. Hey man you guys bombed us for years with W. Payton. Now it's our turn.
No one else noticed the safety on the opening kickoff?
Eric Tichy it’s a muff, never had possession
You are right that is a safety...once a player touches ball on kickoff then that puts ball in possession, which he then lost ball in end zone and took a knee which should've been a safety.
It's kind of weird watching a game without the yellow first down line on the screen.
Holding on Packers all day. Refs never call it.

9:12 LOLZ at the Punky Mouth QB. All jokes aside, McMahon was a cool dude and rocked the Green & Gold with pride 🧀.
Giving the Bears fans some Jim McMahon at the end, tho!!! 👏🏼😊😃👍🏻🏉🏉🏉
Could you possibly do the Packers and Vikings game from week 16 of 2016?
It’s on the list
OberSports Awesome, thank you.
OberSports Your videos are awesome. Keep up the great work. Go Pack Go!
Thanks man!
Jim McMahon helps beat his old team by playing for that team's greatest rival. How embarrassing, pun intended

Wasn’t that opening kickoff a safety?? Lmao
Yes.

Which organization is a bigger turd pile? Bears or Queens?
