Of course Channey isn't perfect. Not by a long shot. But she's much MORE better than nothing at all to counteract the crude authoritarian elemnents in todays US Republican Bloc, seemingly having, exercising more power and authority than rightly theirs.

I'm registered as a NPA after watching what has taken place during the last 6 yrs. However, I wish to express my admiration for Ms. Cheney and wish her much success as she moves forward.
The republican party is very disheartening in these times. They used to stand for all the right things, and now we only see corruption and obstruction. I commend Liz Cheney for her unbiased look at the party and America's needs. She and Kinzinger stood strong in the Jan 6th committee, and deserves recognized for their commitment to our nation.
Country before party, Liz is a patriot and an example of what a person elected into power in a democracy should act like.

As a teacher, I have issue with not having classes in school that teach the constitution specifically. We have a huge population that has no idea what our democracy was founded on. Our history is being lost.

Teacher of what? I went to one of the best public high schools on long island. In the academic regents curriculum, world history was spread out over Social Studies. American history of coarse was included. he studied the Declaration of Independences' definition. The Constitution is a course studied in university if chosen. (The Supreme Court and the Criminal Procedure). Check out your English and grammar. That's already lost.

@@catheerineflannigan3321as a kid I was taught American history, the mayflower compact, Declaration of Independence, and the constitution in grade school and again in high school, required, world histoy in between, so much other stuff that my daughter wasn’t, she went to a small town school to 6th grade that may not have followed everything that bypassed some of the stuff that other schools did, the large school seemed to miss some things but taught the holocaust and took a plane load of students to NY to the holocaust exhibit, the holocaust can’t be forgotten, the study of the mayflower compact, Declaration of Independence, and the constitution as 1/3-1/2 the kids don’t know it

One of unintended consequences of Jan 6th was a spotlight on great Americans heroes that few of us were aware of: Ruby Freeman , Shaye Moss, Brad Raffensperger, Rusty Bowers, Adam Kinzinger, Michael Fanone, Cassidy Hutchison, Liz Cheney, and so many others. That is a source of great hope for this democracy, “if we can keep it.” Thank you Ms. Cheney for your wonderful profiles in courage.

Democrat here and would vote for her in a heartbeat even though I don't agree with all that she agrees with. I used to say we need a third party, but now I would be satisfied with the Republicans becoming a common sense party again.

Liz Cheney's contribution to the Jan. 6th committee is to be lauded. BUT, she never questions the role that she or her father played in the evolution of the current-day Republican party. As Bush jr. was not a very proactive figure, her father was virtual President for the first 8 years of this century. Bush/Cheney crimes in Iraq are comparable in seriousness to the crimes of the Trump administration.

I have gotten her book Oath and Honor for my mother and her best friend to read. I am determined to win them over to vote for Biden (against Trump). I think Congresswoman Cheney’s life time of being a conservative will help win them over.

I have never voted republican, and I never liked Dick Cheney; with that I'll say that Liz is not only one of the most high-level integrity individuals I've ever seen, but also one of the most intelligent and gutsy of individuals. This woman has my respect and even perhaps my vote if she ever runs for higher office. That kind of passion for the office and for what's right should never be ignored and it doesn't have party labels.

I have always been a republican that is until Donald Trump came along. I want to say Thanks for speaking out on behalf of our constitution and our country. Disagreement is not the issue. Racism versus white entitlement is the issue, and the future of democracy will depend on the agreement that the outcome of this issue will be determined by progressive rather than regressive policies. Those who wish to preserve racism in whatever form it takes has monied, corporate interests lobbying to preserve it. The rule of law must be applied in order to preserve our freedom. Consider the lobby that supports guns and killing so powerful that our society becomes inure to innocent children being assassinated by armed and dangerous mentally ill individuals. This is a lethal imbalance that is not supported by the citizenry. Consider also the donation of billions to campaigns which support candidates who oppose a fractured racist, sexist and ageist health care system.
If Democrats are the Left, Republicans are the Right. Yet Liz says Republicans are “conservative “, and not that Democrats are liberal. Choice of words is important. Don’t forget that she opposes women’s right to abortion.
