They’re a Korean group (although the members are korean, thai, and japanese) and from YG entertainment which is known for its emphasis on rap and this type of concept - younger sisters of BLACKPINK, biggest girl group in the world, winning awards that havent been won by a girl group since destinys child and the spice girls! BP was the first girl group, first kpop group, etc to headline Coachella, as well as Hyde Park! BLACKPINK is also known for switching between english and korean super fluidly - they’re older so they have a bit more sass, money, etc., but their songs and music videos (!!) are insane. BABYMONSTER is this groups name because the girls are so young (youngest just turned 14) but they’ve been training at YG for years!! They had a series about them trying to make the final lineup for the group and there are some jaw dropping performances of theres to watch (I recommend watching the solo covers from the girls : All of Me, Traitor, Someone You Loved, Pick Up Your Feelings, Me Myself and I, Astronaut in the ocean mashup, and Dangerously- dangerously is performed by Ahyeon, who missed the debut due to health reasons, but the original singer of the song, Charlie Puth, reacted to her cover bc it was that insane). They have a beautiful pre-debut song called Dream which shows their years of training, a great dance performance of Jenny from the Block, and a new cover of Christmas Without You! YG is also particularly known for their music videos as they build amazing sets and use the least amount of CGI, which makes the videos stand out more than other groups from other companies (no hate to other groups its just kind of a fact). If you want to get a good sense of the vibe of the company and its (adult) groups, I recommend BLACKPINK’s Pink Venom, How You Like That, Kill This Love, DDU DU DDU DU
The 200M views is because this is the next generation to one of the biggest girl groups (BLACKPINK) that comes from the same agency. They are from South Korea and is actually diverse in the languages that they speak. If you guys liked this then you should check out BLACKPINK and maybe start with PINK VENOM. Another group that you should also check out is XG which comes from a different company but they are really good and sing in English for most of their songs. Also, with official music videos from BABYMONSTER and BLACKPINK you can turn on the CC to see the translations of what they are saying.

Do not worry about the Spice Girls reference, there is something to that. Because each member does have their different flavor and specialties. If you want to get a better vocal feel of what they do, try the BabyMonster Live Performances #1-#7 (they are in black and white). If that peaks your interest and you want to know them better, there are the Introducing videos, where you learn about how they came to the group and learn a bit of their personalities. This is their debut song, and intentionally it is a bop that can be used in a dance club setting. They have a talent profile to do much more than this single style of music though.
