Ace VS Natsu was a vs match that Death Battle covered many years ago, with the conclusion of the match being very corny since it came down to like a type match up like it was pokemon. Instead of doing some weird verse equalization bs to come up with a corny W, today i want to actually analyze who realistically would this match in 2024. For this matchup I will be using not only Ace’s feats in the manga and anime but also in his mini novel series that IS canon to the manga. While for Natsu I will be using the current BASE Natsu from 100 YQ. The reason for this is because both versions have a very similar aura to one another, with them just flexing and passively burning the environment around them. But let's see whose aura is not only hotter, but who would win in a vs battle. Starting off, we have Portgas D Ace, the son of Gol D Roger and the holder of the Mera Mera No Mi. A Logia Devil Fruit that allows Ace to become the element of fire itself, making him intangible for those who don't have Haki. Haki by definition is just the spiritual energy that the user harnesses, which you could argue that's what pretty much Magic is in Fairy Tail, but regardless this point does not matter in the long run due to Natsu being able to hit intangible things. However, if Ace is way faster than the dragon slayer, he could simply never get hit by morphing around his attacks. Ace as well doesn't just shoot basic fire blasts, he can use things like Fire Fly which is a range of mini bombs that surround the enemy, covering a pretty decent range. He's got fire finger guns and crosses and spears. With the brother of the sun god out the way, let's now talk about the man related to the wizard of darkness, also known as Natsu Dragneel. Now Natsu is a Fire Dragon Slayer, which is a unique type of magic that allows him to specifically harm and well “Slay” Dragons.With his element being fire, this makes him not only resistant to most fire related attacks, but he can even EAT fire and increase his own power in return. Natsu can shoot all kinds of attacks ranging from basic fire punches and kicks, to making wings, breath attacks, and can coat specific parts of his body in fire. In terms of both Fire Power and Physical Strength? I'm afraid Ace falls a little short as well. Warming up something as big as drum island is impressive, but we have to remember Natsu had a passive heat aura that was melting stone and peoples clothes. This like Ace was a Natsu not necessarily trying, and Natsu himself would have an easier time dealing with Ace’s fire then Vice versa. The physical aspect is also kinda not fair since Ace mainly had one fight to show this off, which was against Blackbeard. We followed Natsu for the entire manga so it's kinda a given we would get more actual showings of his physical prowess. Fairy Tail is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from August 2006 to July 2017, with the individual chapters collected and published into 63 tankōbon volumes. The story follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, a member of the popular wizard[b] guild Fairy Tail, as he searches the fictional world of Earth-land for the dragon Igneel. With his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the deceased King of the Pirates Gol D. Roger's ultimate treasure known as the "One Piece" in order to become the next King of the Pirates. Fairy Tail Mages are also just actually connected with their power via their marks. Natsu does it the most often, but any member of the guild can use their mark to draw power from the rest of the guild, with limits.

Natsu's battle iq is way too broken. For reference, when he fought Sting and Rogue, for less than 30 minutes, he deduced their fighting style, habits, footwork and breathing. After he said that he'll 1v2 them they legit never landed a clean hit on natsu

Feels nice when One Piece fans actually use their brain and realise why Fairy Tail is a home to some different level of monsters. I should explain this Fairy Tail doesn't have power of friendship. Let me explain Fairy Tail's magic power system is literally fueled on what sort of emotions you are feeling for example Master Hades's darkness felt so dominant and unending cuz that is the kind of depressing and nihilistic mindset he had turned into which amped his Forbidden magic. Similarly because of Natsu having so many emotional moments before fighting with Zeref example gray and him fighting, him thinking Lucy died, him realising that Makarov died so much pain and sorrow increased the turbulent nature of his magic and amped him up enough to even burn time though with a small price which was to set his own soul literally on fire so yeah 😂 Fairy Tail's magic system is very simple and complex at the same time. People misunderstand this a lot and then they think its some Hax bullshit or something but thats not the case. Emotions is the power system, the literal reason why Sting and Rogue loose to Natsu so easily is because neither of them had any reasoning behind their fight. The moment Lector was harmed by the Sabertooth master Sting literally opened a hole in his body thats literally how much the difference of Emotions bring.
This fight has been obvious ever since it became a debate, but I still love the video and since you want to bring Fairy Tail to the channel you could do Gray vs Esdeath or Aokiji and Juvia vs Noelle Silva I think those fights would be fun to cover. Keep up the great work

Natsu is immune to any fire that doesn't exceed his dragon fire (ace is just using normal class fire) and any fire that doesn't exceed natsu's, he can just eat as fuel. It not a question of power, because Ace literally cannot do anything against Natsu

Here's my rough explanation for fairy tail scaling I give people who down play it to hell.
There's a weapon shown in arc 3 known as Etherion, it's a giant magic space laser that is stated numerous times to just delete countries. (Some translations say continents and fairly late into the series when bringing up Alvarez and stuff but let's be fair and just say countries)
Acnologia is generally considered to easily eclipse the power of Etherion. With casual roars in dragon forms being stated to be of similar power or more. (With less charge time. Etherion is stated to take 20+ minutes to charge a single shot, while Acnologia produces similar with minimum 1/4 the time)
Then we get to fairy heart.
Something that the strongest human wizard Zeref absorbs and was stated multiple times to have INFINITE POWER. Something that can fire the country destroying laser infinitely no charge time or anything. Which is moderately proven when he starts manipulating space time at a whim and plans to go back in time with his new found power. Zeref states that even with Infinite Power he can't beat Acnologia.
Natsu starts beating or at least contending with guys with this tier of power pretty often.
Things get worse if we take other statements more literally such as Natsu, Zeref and Acnologia being above the concepts of space and time themselves. Hell, Wendy becomes an incredibly Potent Reality Warper with a high ball, fairy tails Dr Manhattan or Molecule Man
Or the fact Igneel is constantly downplayed despite the fact his only showing was with him not even having a proper body and soul and yet he would have one of the best feats in the franchise when he rips off Acnologia's arm and is also constantly refered to as powerful and hot as the sun.
Or other stuff like how Irene with prep wasn't even confident about stalling Acnologia but Igneel was certain he could potentially kill him immediately with no prep.

Like emotions is apart of magic in fairy tail it amps it. Those emotions come from their friends
I mean he isn’t always amped up by ‘the power of friendship’, when his aura was melting a literal colosseum he was just chilling and happily looking for a good fight lol
But also emotions amp up EVERY wizards power, so ofc same thing happens for Natsu.
there is no “amping”, canonically, magic is heavily influenced by the wielder’s emotions, there is nothing like “plot armour” when it’s literally how the rules of the verse work.
One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the final fight against Agnalogia was outside of time meaning any character that moved even a millimeter in that fight is faster than time.
Additionally, since according to the author, the filler is canon that means we can scale using the eclipse celestial spirit arc but a bunch of characters as being able to move interstellar distances in little time.
I'm starting be amazed about how many characters in Manga moves fast enough to destroy the Earth several times over just by Movement.
While fighting hand to hand at a clear normal speed level of martial artists.
These light speed feats man.

It's been stated to be above 200 million degrees Celsius. The sun is 5499 degrees and it's core is 15 million degrees Celsius.
Natsu's flames are at least 36 thousand times hotter than the surface of the sun

This actually lowballs both Natsu and Ace. You’re correct that Natsu is stronger but Natsu scales much higher than any of the feats you brought up and Ace actually is quite proficient in Haki thanks to the novels/chapter of A, not that it’ll save him from Natsu

It's very likely Natsu could eat Ace. We see him begin to devour Atlas Flame in the Grand Magic Games, a dragon composed entirely of Hellfire, so there shouldn't really be any problem with him eating Ace's fiery body.

One very important thing. Natsu is COMPLETELY immune to fire, so Ace’s devil fruit, literally doesn’t hurt Natsu at all, in fact, it makes Natsu stronger if he eats Ace’s fire. Finally, Natsu’s flames are hotter than Ace’s because after the one year time skip, Natsu melted an entire Colosseum. He can burn almost everyone’s cloth (except this own) just by being there, he doesn’t even need to touch people. I have never seen Ace’s flames do that, so Natsu’s flames are like magma face from Once Piece and Natsu would win. Ace always served me as "who should be the Chosen One" archetype due to his genes and was always going to be a motivational character for Luffy to grow as a character. Like you said, he can burn concepts like time and space itself. He burned through time against the goddess of time and when fighting Zeref. (Zeref literally quoted something like: "his flames can burn space and time itself?"
One shotted a god of war.
One shot Zeref in his god/immortality mode (granted, zeref did turn back time to 'revive' himself, but he still one tapped him out of existence).
He also dried up an entire lake with just his body heat by just preparing an attack (against that spriggan guy).
He 1v2'd dragon slayers in their Dragon Force which amplifies their magic power by multiple times. IN HIS BASE FORM

just so you understand it a little more. ace used conquers haki (not the same as regular haki). this doesn't mean he knows how to coat his body and harden it with haki. just simply means his conq haki peaks during stressful emotion events giving him the ability to incapacitate people weaker than him. durring marine ford his conq haki would have been useless and theres also the fact luffy had already used his and incapacitated most of the marines. the ability ace used as a kid isnt the same a regular haki thats typically used in the show.

No disrespect, cool video, but I wanted to point out a couple things. If the character you meant at 8:40 was Suzaku, Erza has never blitzed him... ever. He blitzed Erza, with her even being able to react being the peak of what she's able to do. She's taken on arguably stronger enemies since, but she never "blitzed him 30 times over." Also, when you mentioned lightspeed characters, you mentioned Suzaku, but showed Haku, though both are incredibly fast; the former being able to attack faster than the eye can see and the latter being said to be as fast as or around as fast as the speed of light. So either could've worked here.
I will say, I respect that some find Natsu's boosts to be BS. But we have to remember, Natsu early on is established to have the Flames of Emotion which grow in strength with his emotions like how Hulk's strength increases with his anger. This is how his Magic is established to work so in my opinion, it'd be BS if they didn't work the way they did, but I respect if people disagree. Also, I don't know if you could argue Magic in Fairy Tail is the spiritual energy Mages harness. That could play into it, but Magic in Fairy Tail is basically the byproduct released from the body based on Magic Power, which comes from an atmospheric particle known as Ethernano absorbed into an organ known as the Magic Container.

The battle could be very close and depend on the circumstances. Natsu's ability to consume fire could give him the upper hand in dealing with Ace’s attacks, while Ace’s intangibility and powerful fire-based techniques would challenge Natsu. The environment and strategy would play crucial roles in determining the victor.
Nothing depends on any circumstances. Natsu has way higher scaling and Ace's attacks won't do any damage, while all of Natsu's attack will connect because he can eat and touch fire and has fire way above the magma that burned Ace in canon.
This shouldn't even be a debate in 2024.
Something interesting you didn't mention is that, if Natsu ate Ace then Ace would end up possessing him and taking over his body.
That's because Oda explained in SBS 71 that this exact thing would happen if someone were to ever eat Aokiji.
Also, when it comes to heat scaling, Kuma's laser could instantly melt a big metal cross a dozen meters away on impact. And despite that, when using the very same lasers in Marineford, they couldn't even begin to soften or even crack Aokiji's ice. Even Kizaru implied that he couldn't melt it when the incircling wall was blocked by the ice (Chap. 564). And yet Ace literally melted a giant chunk of that ice in a few seconds at most (Chap. 572).
It could even burn right through Jinbei's haki like it was said in the novel. But yeah, it doesn't reach Natsu's level for now.

While this is definitely an overkill thing to mention (and could be argued to just be overwanking natsu’s power), using certain statements and feats towards the end of the manga, natsu’s base flames can be calc’d to around or even above 200m degrees Celsius.
Another thing to note is that these statements come from OG Fairy Tail, meaning at the current point in 100yq natsu has most likely far surpassed these calcs
