During the 50s and early 60s, bomb shelters were often built under the more expensive homes designed by architects. I have seen a few and those I saw were small and cramped and had little space for supplies. It is also noteworthy that such homes had maid and butler quarters, but not such space in the bunkers!

I used to work here. Took a bunch of stuff out of that bunker one time, lol. By the way, it's owned by the governor of WEST Virginia, not Virginia. He owns the Greenbrier Resort and most of CSX Railroad.
Bryan Scott actually, CSX owned the Greenbriar up until a few years ago. They sold it to create cashflow, then CSX had a hostile takeover from a hedge fund & put Hunter Harrison in charge, but he died after a couple of years.

You can visit the Greenbriar and still see the bunker but you can't stay in it because the bunker was turned into a museum in the 1990's.
