    Who would ever have thought this would work on the radio, but it did and it is one of my all-time favorite old radio shows :)

    I had no idea that shows on radio were this good back then but now that I have heard them I realize that shows like this are a lot better than some of the shows on TV today

    Edgar Bergen was not a very good ventriloquist but was the worst father.
    In his day, American audiences were happy with mediocrity.
    Most of his performances were on radio where he didn't need to bother if his lips moved or not. In person, that was obvious.

    biggest hoax ever to hit show business... Edgar Bergen probably didn't even bring Charlie's box to the studio!
