I have heard that most AI companies are making the hands look weird on purpose. It is one way to help people distinguish that the video has been fabricated and isn’t real. Most people notice the hands look wonky almost immediately - but not everyone, of course, will notice, so it’s not foolproof. There’s also currently no accessibility tool for people with virtual impairments to audibly know that the video was made with AI if they are listening to the audio.
I suspect they’ll establish verification codes (kind of like a QR code) that will have to be included with AI videos in the future, as well as AI for social media platforms to detect when a video has used AI and not allowing someone to post the content without using that official disclosure method. And of course, the official verification will inform people with visual and other applicable disabilities (like brain injuries, etc.) that the video was made with AI and even specific which parts to make it abundantly clear. That’s how I see the future of dealing with the problem of people using AI for ill intents - like making Canadian dogs guitar vids! 😂😂😂

The worst thing that happened to RUclips was LonelyGirl15. That channel was the shot accross the bow for what RUclips was. There was a grass roots community of vloggers, but the moment a real production team came together to make content on the platform, it was all downhill. Have some cool things been done on RUclips since then? Absolutely. But that good stuff is usually one person at the beginning, then they slowly build up to having a production team: editors or camera people etc. LonelyGirl15 was a full on "show" made to look like a person just in their room vlogging. It was a deception and a cash grab all at once. A warning sign of things to come.

I might be more upset about AI subverting human creativity if people weren’t making so much crap entertainment these days. If AI can bring in another cultural revolution like the 1960s it might not be so bad
