Stumbled across your video because I got sick and tired of my dad screaming and yelling at me every single second instead of teaching me how to drive. Every-time he would scream and yell, I would end up drifting from anxiety and my head would go into scribbles. My dad would just tell me “figure out yourself” instead of telling me what to do (teaching). Decided to watch your video and I feel so much more confident about driving. I messed up a few times today still (changing lanes at the right time, live in city and everyone here is aggressive) but I still did so much better and came better prepared. Since my dad isn’t going to take the teaching role seriously and emotionally correct, I’ll be watching your videos to gain confidence. Thank you so much.
same issue, my anxiety when I get in with my dad is so high, I can’t focus even when simply starting the ignition and him beside me, thinking any second he is about to yell at a simple move I make :/
This is what I’m going through rn with my mom. Instead of teaching me, she’s constantly freaking out & yelling which makes me more anxious & scared & can’t even think properly. & that’s why I’m here watching this video. Lol
I have to say it this guy is an amazing teacher. I wish I could have paid you rather than my driving teacher you are way better and explain how things work and the motion of the car. Thank you so much for helping us I truly admire you.
Thank you for this video. I'm currently practicing my driving and reversing into or out a parking spot with cars next to it is one of the things that gets me the most. I'm afraid of hitting a car while I'm backing out of a parking spot or pulling into a parking spot in reverse. It's not that bad anymore as I have improved but I'm working on getting better.
Thank you. Turning the wheel left makes the back of the car go left. Turing the wheel right makes the back of the car go right. New driver here thank you so much

I really like it that you said, if we turn the steering to the right, "the rear of the car" will go to the right. My mom kept telling me, when in reverse, you turn the steering right to go left, and left to go right. It has caused me so much anxiety until I unsurely figured it out myself. Well, now I know for sure.

Thank you for explaining this so easily and smoothly. Your instructions are clear and concise than other people, and I appreciate that! Everytime I watch your videos, I feel even more confident while driving. Thank you!
Mate, u have a lot of space at the back to reverse it comfortably... Can you please do a video with a tight space at the back of the car.. Like not a huge space for a complete car to fit at the back.
When reversing out of a parking spot you do not need to use both hands on the wheel and look over your shoulder? I was told two different things from two different driving instructors..
No RUclips video can teach you the ins and outs of "real life" parking in tight spaces. The necessary spatial awareness and driving skills comes only with practice and experience. What I would suggest is that you start with learning the extremities of your vehicle in a quiet place - Start by inching up to say a garage door (get out to check if necessary or have a friend guide you) until you are eventually an inch or so away from touching - and similarly in reverse. If you do this enough times you will eventually get a feel for how far you are away from other vehicles when you are in tight situations. For parallel parking I was lucky to have an abandoned vehicle parked near where I lived at the time and this came in very useful for practice - with the benefit that if I misjudged and clipped the vehicle (I didn't!) then I would only have to worry about damage to my own vehicle. With practice your confidence grows and eventually you'll feel confident in handling tight situations even when under pressure - for instance a line of cars waiting behind you. Some people seemed to blessed with the natural ability and spatial awareness from birth. I've always been envious of my brother who can parallel park into spaces with literally inches of clearance with ease.
Took and failed my test today. This was my first task and I totally panicked 😢. I’ve watched sooo many of your videos, but never this one. Moving forward, I will definitely ace this maneuver on my retest 😁 thank you for your informative videos

Got my permit at 18 years old recently, I always wanted to learn how to drive a car. My dad is going to teach me how to drive once I'm ready, I'm going to watch this video every day after reading the driver's manual until I'm ready. Until then, wish me luck!
Hi I use to have a 1987 Lincoln tow car back in the day. With that BIG hood that it had! Backing out of parking spot u can’t go and clear the car next to you it’s bumper to start Turing. What is going to happen is that your back end is going to hit the car behind you. So what u got to do is as you start backing up start turning your wheel a little bit until your car gets on a angle then gradually turn your wheel more until your front tire is to the other cars bumper. Then turn the wheel harder to clear the car next to you. That’s because of that Giant front end that I had!
Pretty neat the idea of signalling while backing is great besides keeping a check on every direction while moving your head in all the directions (yoga helps here!!). I would add a point that one should take special attention of things like light poles etc not easily visible once you are in the car. May be we can spot such things while doing a circle check.
