The plot twist is gonna be that Will Smith is the real killer and that "William(the killer from the first spiral movie)" was just an apprentice helping Will Smith hunt down Chris Rock. The motivation being because he offended his wife at the Oscars. He will now have to be taught a lesson about the consequences making fun of people... live or die.

For anyone wanting to see this but are not sure... GO SEE IT! It is a fresh take on the series while also paying homage to the classics through its cinematography and stylistic editing. This lays ground for a whole new spinoff series.
so its not continuation to the other saw movies or jigsaw 2017? this is just set in the same universe but with a "copycat" jigsaw? I wouldve liked to see a sequel to jigsaw 2017 because in that movie we saw another person that was helping John at the very start so I wouldn't have minded to see him again. but I guess his story ending in that movie is ok and this being a completely different movie isn't so bad.

I honestly didn’t watch this initially because I thought Chris being in it would make it not serious enough to enjoy.
But I finally gave in (as a fan of the Saw series Im general) and I have to say Chris somehow managed to pull off coming off as very serious while also having a sense of humor that didn’t overwhelm the seriousness of the movie nor his overall character…
And I say this as one who’s not real big on Chris as an actor nor comedian… 🤷🏽♂️
This movie was amazing! I loved it from start to finish. The emotions, the twist. Amazing. Didn't expect any of it.
I appreciate the focus on mystery and secret plots from the shadows, SAW was always at its best when it was about that, rather than solely the traps.

@Eggroll Eater Especially that the voice is not John Kramer aka Jigsaw himself, in the trailer, someone has mentioned that Jigsaw is dead. It's very obviously that it's a copycat killer, inspired of Jigsaw games but in a twisted way. Unlike Logan, who he re-created the Barn game from Original Jigsaw using the failure cases victims of Halloran and using the computer to "edit" the audio of Jigsaw seeming that John Kramer is back from the dead, but this copycat, it's a new killer, has an interesting voice, the new killer seems to point or hunting the cops in a twisted game. Including the new killer will not have ties with Jigsaw/John Kramer, neither as a new apprentice/accomplice of Jigsaw, it's a new copycat killer.

@@SuperVideogamer Jigsaw was a sequel and prequel together. The game we seen going on in Jigsaw was the first game ever played and then it would switch to real time and the Coroner was the student all along and set up a similar game for other people. I thought it was a decent twist but the Hoffman reveal was a shocker.

Some of the traps wouldn't be too hard to set up like the razor wire maze or the safe with the glass on the floor, but there's no way someone without an engineering degree could create the traps in the sequels or kidnap everyone without some kid of help. Jigsaw had Amanda, Dr. Gordon, Hoffman, Logan and the two guys from the public trap. I wouldn't be surprised if the "killer" was a group of people.

Binged? Man. That’s a lot of gore. I loved the first 3 films, I like to think of it as a solid trilogy. Films 5-7 is a blur, they all feel like that same movie. I remember big moments but couldn’t tell you which film is from. And the ending was part 8 was predictable too. I’m excited for this though.
I haven’t seen any of the saw films I know there on HBO max I’ll give it a watch it’s going to be pretty gory tho

Chris Rock's expressions in this film are all over the map. It's like he decided to try and improv each reaction and just went with the wrong instinctual choice half the time.
I dont know how I missed this loving the saw series up until 3D. I am not sure how to feel about the last one and this makes me wonder even more.

@@dreamkripted1 Ooooh Marlon Wayans can really act. I was shocked at how well he did in Requeim for a Dream. That was some seriously good acting he did. I would like to see him in more serious roles.
I think everyone in the comments who are talking about not taking Chris Rock seriously really need to get over the pitch in his natural voice. LOL A voice is a voice. His jokes aren't only funny because of his voice - it's his delivery and how he makes the jokes. I'm taking a chance on this film without bias.
