same here this is teaching me how to play and is helping so much. Yes I'm still getting destroyed in unranked matches still but I def know how to build an army now as fast as possible.

This is a great video. I've the type of person that always need to understand the big picture in everything and getting a final concise recap at the end saved me from having to rewatch it and make notes
Haven’t played in over 15 years and wow are people good! Very intimidating to play for beginners I can see and someone just getting back in. Every game in the end when you lose opponents will criticize you and say you suck, learn to play, you aren’t very good, and just the meanest things. But there is hope out there. Been nice to run into the few who say GLHF! It’s all fun for me and used to be my favorite game. Glad I’m getting back into it. Getting better each game!
Sorry to hear you're running into some jerks on ladder! If it's any consolation, it tends to be the worst players who behave like that. 😂 Good on you for sticking with it and improving! Focusing on the joy of learning and getting better is really the key to enjoying StarCraft imo! GLHF!
It's interesting coming into StarCraft 2 as a seasoned Dota 2 player. I am pretty good at microing units (I use Grid Hotkeys because they map out closer to Dota 2 style hotkeys) so skirmishing with medivacs, stalkers, adepts etc comes totally naturally but macro is a huge pain in the ass. I'm so used to only having to focus on microing one or a handful of units and not having to worry about economy
Thanks for sharing your experience! My feeling is that Dota's focus on one aspect of the RTS gameplay format is the reason why people enjoy the genre so much. IMO that also means that to really enjoy an RTS you have to kind of lean into that "extra stuff" i.e. the macro elements, and find ways to enjoy it. Btw, cool username, I'm gonna steal that for a location in some D&D campaign. 😂
Started the game a month ago, 13 years after I wanted to. Your speech is precise, I like it. Impressions of the game : it's so good. It feels good, it looks good, it does not seem old at all. It's so hard. The macro is so unforgiving. I used to play Warcraft 3 18 years ago. The rate of macro actions you need to do in SC2 feels like 4 times more. And I sucked at it in WC3. Aand to the point of sometimes it feels like work, in a way, haha. Also to me SC2 is more entertaining to learn than chess for example. Actually, it's addictive.

Since I haven't had as much time to play these days, I also mainly follow the game "from afar" and it's a wonderful hobby even as an observer. The level of play has increased so far over the last 10 years, and the skill of the players is utterly astounding at times.
Thank you! So, basically every mineral patch can only have one worker mining from it at the same time (MULEs are an exception to this). That means that if your probe spams right-click on an enemy mineral patch at the right time, it will slightly interrupt your opponent's mineral gathering. Also, if you actually manage to mine a mineral, you'll remove 5 minerals from the mineral patch, which your opponent won't have later in the game. This kind of harass is EXTREMELY minor so it won't really matter at all except at the very highest level of play (unless your opponent overreacts in their response and messes something up). :)

one thing i can recommend, its something i do on act of war a lot, starve your enemy of resources, altho in AOW you can just capture or kill vehicle crews and pows but here, just kill workers
I was a kid when WOL came out my strategy was as simple as this. Terran: Spam Thors or Battlecruisers or both. Zerg: Spam Ultralisks Protoss: Spam Carriers It always works... Vs. AI.
nice video but yeah timing attack, harasment are also a thing in Red Alert 3. however in Red Alert 3 you have easier time to harass uhm... I'm more into WC3 Undead player which I don't usually expand my base cause as Undead that race is hard to expand but it's OK that's exactly what I wanted... I'm having some hard time to control multiple bases anyway it's quite overwhelmed in WC3 I can harass easier than in SC2 because as Undead I often rely on my heroes to dish out damage in WC3 I often banked up my gold and lumber cause I wanna save those gold for buying more item from shops OR I need those gold and lumber to rebuild my army in WC3... they prioritize MICRO than Macro, uhm... the cloest style of that fast expand it would probably Human thhey expand like Terran can you make a video about transition from WC3 to SC2 ?
I loved that about WC3, how you could basically "start the game" as soon as you had a hero. Creeping, harassing, etc. In SC2 usually it takes a bit longer to get going offensively. I think a video about transitioning from WC3 to SC2 sounds really interesting, and I'll definitely consider it, but to be honest it's been such a long time since I played WC3 or watched pro games that I would have to do a lot of research before trying to make that video. 😂

Shades = Observer Ghoul = Zealots but cheaper price... Statue = Sentry Fiends = Stalker + Immortal combine Destroyer = uhm... this is tought guess High Templar + Tempest + Void Ray + Archon ? + Mothership Frost Wymn = Tempest + mothership + Carrierr Abomination = Immortal + Archon + Zealots Meat Wagon = Colossus Gargoyle = Phoenix + Void Ray + Scout(SC1) Banshee = uhm.. Adept but with Battery Shield ? Dreadlord = Zealots + High Templar + Oracle + Mothership ? I found in SC2 the MOST Vulnerable part of all base is their backline AKA where the mineral and gas and workers are in some of ppro video I've watched in SC2... they OVERLOOKED base layout so so much that they got harass from Reaper, Battlecruiser, Liberator, Phoenix, Stalker, Zergling, Swarm Host,...etc a lots
except it'S NOT a strategy game for 90% of the playerbase it's a management and control game for those, first and foremost strategy comes into the picture once you know and can control most of the things necessary

Macro skills therefore do not depend on granular twitch/reflex based control of game elements using the first one is cheating the second one is based on skill

@@h3xagon0001 I do not believe that any of the PRO Players in pvp have any skills whatso ever using cheat software or following a build order isn't a skill... but they think it is which is why they are a big pack of losers who have ruined this game for everyone... I am sure they are why Billizard has dumped development on this

I always wondered why Protoss at the highest level do that thing at 9:56. I know it is harass but what does it actually do?

last guy i played with on this game told me he was using HAX software to spawn extra races he controlled in pvp ... after i saw him do it ... he had both Zorg and Protos

using cheat software or following a build order isn't a skill... but they think it is which is why they are a big pack of losers who have ruined this game for everyone... I am sure they are why Billizard has dumped development on this
