surprise ending! it looked as though you really had it there for a while, then it all fell apart. the seat you bought looks great and the paint on the shell looks great.
it's east to abuse a poor fella for being honest enough to show us the problems he encountered trying to make his seat. Truth is at least he gave it a go, and will have learned that harder foam is much easier to shape!
I think this would be the hardest part in modfying cafe reacer look motorcycle. ..better to buy already made instead DIY-ing it. this video really help!
I think the issue you had was using too much foam, you only need an inch thick and using a heat gun will help you bend it into the shape you want then cover it and it looks great!!
One idea is to find a stock solo seat from a modern sport bike and make the pan to fit both frame and seat. A separate butt stop pad is easy enough to make.
LLLMMMAAAOOO dude I woulda believed it.....YO AS I WAS WATCHING THIS WHOLE PROCESS I WAS LIKE FUCK THAT ILL JUST PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT AND YOU CAME OUT AT THE END ...WOW
NOT A BAD EFFORT, id say your wood for the base was to thick and also the material used to cover it. ya need to build up layers of foam of different thickness rough cut with a electric carving knife and then sand the bobbles or cellulite as you called it with a sanding disc/pad....you would think you can sand foam and some types you cant so make sure its the right stuff. id would also recommend the use of wood ferrels theyre like a threaded insert with spikes to fix into the wood, that way you can put a bolt in from the underside and tighten the seat base down to the seat unit..........thumbs up!
COME ON! stop with the caffeine!, its an awesome job, u should do a tutorial (i mean, a DIY video, cause the process and the result just dont match) to all of us who try to do things like these... Thanks for the video men, really inspiring, keep on rockin!
Che materia è? Dove compri? Metti il link degli oggetti. Grazie mille
