good work just wondering if you have another video showing more in detail of the tank section? looking to make my own seat pan and everyone just makes it flat and screws in a metal tab to lock in place but id rather make the base fit properly and was curious how you tackled that section as the video just skips over it im completely new to fibreglassing so im not sure if its easy or not but hoping in the next month or two to start doing the seat pan on the project bike thankyou
we actually have quite a few. If you go to our playlist section and click on the motorcycle playlist it will be easier to find. Thanks for watching. Also, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us we are happy to help.
@@AtomicAutoworksTV thankyou heaps, ill check it out ive been sidetracked i bought a fiber laser and that came in so ive been playing with that while the bike looks sad but ill get back on to it shortly going to try out making a front fender first then come pack to the seat as im thinking rear fender then make the seat to suit once rear is fitted rather than trying to make rear fender suit the seat if that makes sense
Hey, I’m trying to customize a stock seat pan. It is a black plastics. I need to add some plastic to it to get the desired shape to the fender that I want. Then cover it with my leather. What do you suggest to use. I thought about using heat and plastic weld the same type of plastic and metal mesh to keep its shape so it matches and I can use staple gun with the leather. I have not tried this yet. There is fiberglass, but I don’t know how well fiberglass and this type of plastic play together. The other option is shaping a piece of wood to the desired shape. It will be easy to shape and I will be able to staple the leather to it. However, even though it will be hidden and covered by leather, I will know that it is there. I have pictures. I’m open to any suggestions because I don’t want to mess this up. I only have one.
Hey what’s up guys !? I’m trying to find someone to upgrade the seat on my hard tail, I’m local to your shop, I have the seat pan but man I need some more padding. Is this something you guys can do ?
I can see all the work that goes into this so now I'm just curious how much would something like this custom seat go for? I was surprised to find out that you are based in Connecticut, not that far from me either.
Prices really very. A custom from scratch 2 up seats starts off at 550 and goes up. Nice ones run 800 and ridiculous ones with exotics can go for over 2k
@@AtomicAutoworksTV ok good to know, and I seen one of your videos where you redid a stock Streetglide seat. Would you be able to cut the stock seat pan to get it to fit inside the stretched tank and covers better and then finish it up with more foam or leather like you did to that seat? And what would starting price for something like that go for?
how many layers of fiber glass did u put down? and it looks like all u used was the thin sheets correct? meaning u went fiber >resin fiber>resin etc.? or was it fiber> resin > thicker pad of fiber> resin > cloth fiber etc
I've been watching seat pan vids on RUclips for quite a while and this is one of the best. Thanks for actually explaining why you do all these things.
pro trick: you can watch series at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.
@Robert Bennett definitely, been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Robert Bennett yup, been using flixzone for months myself =)
Thanks for dropping the knowledge :)

@@AtomicAutoworksTV awesome thanks for the help
Use aluminum foil tape first it helps shape everything first then blue tape over that
Personally do not like aluminum foil as it rips and sticks to the glass, Also doesn't release the sweat. Thanks for watching
