    Hi. New follower here. I discovered floss tube recently and have watched all your videos. Your stitching is beautiful. I'm from New Zealand but have visited Utah twice, it's one of my favourite places. I plan to come back in a couple of years and bring my hubby and son. Thank you for all the lovely inspiration

      Hello Gay! I’m so glad you stopped by and have been enjoying my videos. I just discovered flosstube last year and oh my…it changed everything!! 😂 what brought you to Utah? I’d love to visit New Zealand. At one time my brother was thinking of emigrating there from Scotland but then he met someone and decided to stay where he was. I enjoy Utah very much but I do miss Scotland a lot. I followed you back on Instagram and noticed you are stitching “lost no more”. I stitched that a few years ago. I absolutely love it. I think I posted a picture on my Instagram a while ago so if you scroll through my pictures you should see it. Feel free to reach out on Instagram and thanks again for watching! 💕

    Glad you are feeling better now.
    You WIPS are great, enjoyed seeing your work!
    Great video.
    Fancy floss comes precut, hard to bobbinate.
    I keep them by color on rings, in a shoe box, all makers together!

      Hi Eugenia! I’m hoping to have more to show next time. It felt weird to not have as many WIPS as I usually do. It did feel good to have some finishes though and sometimes it’s good to do that. I completely forgot to show the charts I had bought! 😁 Thank you for the storage idea for the fancy floss. I hope all is well. Take care. 💕

    Aww, thank you for the shout out for my channel. I loved your finishes and WIPs. When I am really tired and stitch, I end up making mistakes also. I don’t always fix the mistakes if a small one and doesn’t affect the project. For the specialty threads - try a photo box carrier - it has 10-12 individual plastic containers inside the case. Michaels and Joann Fabrics has them.

    • @marysstitchingcorner8050

      You are welcome Sherry. I really enjoy your channel. I’m trying to let some mistakes go as when it’s all done you usually can’t tell. But some, like the birdhouse I had to stitch 3 times, it was not good!! 😳 Thanks so much for the photo box suggestion. I will definitely check it out. Have a great day. 💕

    Hello Mary! I can relate to being sick of snow! I’m from Minnesota and spring is so slow to come this year! I take care of two of my grandchildren (ages 4 and 1 1/2) and I just want to get outside with them. All three of us are bored! I love seeing your wips. The Victorian house is going to be beautiful and the Maison alphabet is so pretty. Call me old fashioned but I keep all my DMC on bobbins, too. I find it easier especially when I want to change colors. Happy Easter to you and I hope it warms up soon. Take care.

      Good morning! I can imagine that spring is slow to come in Minnesota. I hope that nicer weather comes your way soon so you can make the most of your time with your grandchildren! We are finally starting to warm up a little but by the end of the week we will be back to below normal temperatures again. Thankfully no snow in the forecast!! 😁 I just haven’t found a method better than bobbins for me. It keeps the threads from tangling and they are easy to find. I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend. 💕

    Hello again! Great update, like you, I bobbinate also though my storage boxes are in a state 🙈 I can’t be bothered with floss drops, rings and all that popular paraphernalia I’m old school 😉 Enjoy the rest of the week 🌞

      Hello Sharon. My bobbin storage boxes were in a terrible state. I ended up
      Preferring to buy new floss rather than search through everything! It was a pain to do but I am so happy that I can now find what I need and buy less. 😁 Thanks so much for watching again and I hope you are well. See you next time! 😊💕

      Hello Yesenia! I’ve just started using them and so far I like them. I do find that unless they have quite a bit of variegation, I’d rather just stick to DMC as ultimately you don’t see much of a difference. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching! Have a great day. 💕

    Snow! Yuck 🙁 Your finishes look fabulous. I have those plaid tiding houses but have never stitched them. I love everything about yours! I think you got a good amount of stitching in - enjoyed seeing it all!

    • @marysstitchingcorner8050
      @marysstitchingcorner8050  2 года назад

      Hello Laura! The snow was a shock and it was so wet and heavy that there were so many power outages. Thankfully we were ok. The plaid houses are easy and quick to stitch. I think you’d enjoy them. If I put my mind to it I’d be able to get the 3rd house done over a few days. You and I share a similar taste and I think you may be my biggest enabler!! 😂 And isn’t that what it’s all about? 😉 Thanks for your friendship! 💕

    I love the little pillow finish!! It's so cute!! I've begun bobbinating my thread, and I'm now needing boxes to put them in. :-) Even with the little "oops", your projects are so lovely!! Victorian Charm is coming out so fabulous looking!!
    I am sorry you've been suffering. My youngest son as well as my future daughter-in-law's brother suffer from migraines as well. I have sinus issues whenever the barometer drops during the changing of seasons, and I end up very ill. I hope you will feel better soon!
    I can't wait to see more videos!! Happy Stitching!!

      Hello Kat! Thank you for the kind words. I finished Victorian Charm the other day and I’m looking forward to showing that on my next video. It only took 20 months! 😱 if I had only been stitching that it would have been finished a lot sooner but discovering flosstube changed everything!! 😂
      I hope that you are feeling ok during this transitional time. It’s so strange how the weather can mess with our health.
      Bobbinating, for me, makes the most sense and seems so much easier . It keeps the floss nice and tidy and things are so much easier to find. I get my boxes from hobby lobby or Joanns. It seemed like michaels only had ones that were filled with random floss which I didn’t need.
      Take good care and thanks so much for watching and commenting. 💕

      @@marysstitchingcorner8050 I find bobbins easier to use too and there's also the adorable Mimi Queen of Fluff my cat to consider. Floss hanging around for her to get to would spell disaster. I can't wait to see your Victorian Charm all done!

    Hi,like you l keep all my threads on plastic bobbins but also gradually moving the ones on card on to plastic,took me about a week sorting them!! I had six skeins of particular green, can’t remember why l needed so much of it! but l can do a lot of greenery from now on😂😂
    The Victorian house is amazing,so colourful,
    l have done Sydney city as my daughter lived there,so easy to sew.but l love doing samplers so A B C would fit in as it’s a different style

    Hello Mary! I’m so glad I popped over after seeing your tag on IG. Thank you for the shout out. I love your accent too and amid the Scots I can hear some of your mum’s influences too. For a bit I wondered if you were from NI too. Hello Sarah! Thanks so much for
      Stopping by and watching my video. I’m still new and I still get flustered!! I really enjoy your videos and have been watching for quite some time. I have a very mixed up accent I think. I grew up in Glasgow so I have the Scottish thing going with a wee bit of my Mums Irish thrown in. Then I’ve lived in America for 30 years so throw a dash of that in too!! 😂 when I moved over here people had a hard time understanding me and so I had to work at softening my brogue. I feel sad it’s been softened as much as it has but my girls tell me it comes right back when I’m talking to someone back home!
      I love Ireland, north and south and hope to get back one day. My mum was from Sligo. Take care, happy stitching and thanks again! 💕

    • @sewmesarah
      @sewmesarah 2 года назад +1

      Your brogue is still lurking, I had to think for a minute if you maybe had a Northern Irish accent, so your mum’s accent is definitely still all in the mix 😉

    Hi Mary! As usual, more beautiful stitching and projects. I have the Victorian House Dimensions Kit, but haven't started it yet. I don't really think I want to start in the middle. Where did you start?

    • @marysstitchingcorner8050
      @marysstitchingcorner8050  2 года назад

      Hello Donna! How are you doing? I did start in the middle on Victorian Charm and I did the first row of 10x10 blocks. Then I would do a 10x10 row above that row and then a 10x10 row below. I alternated all the way through, just for something different. Since the fabric Dimensions includes doesn’t give you a lot of extra, I usually start in the middle with them, just in case I measure wrong. I hope that made sense! I hope you enjoy stitching it as much as I did. Thank you for watching again and have a great day. 💕
