    I had a vasectomy that was cauterized, 2 years ago. My urologist said since my first check showed zero I never have to check my count again. Is it basically pointless for me to do so 2 years later and the fact that my vas was cauterized?

      Once you have had a clear semen test you will receive clearance. We normally advise this test to be done 3 months after your vasectomy to give time for the tubes to clear. There is no need to do any more testing after this, ever.

      @@snipvasectomyclinic does burning the vas using cautery basically make it almost impossible for them to ever reconnect

    • @snipvasectomyclinic
      @snipvasectomyclinic  Год назад +2

      The chance of vas reconnection is about 1:2000 people. This is the same for all methods of vasectomy. To put this in perspective, the chance of tubal ligation (female sterilization) failing is between 1:60 to 1:200, and the best reversible contraceptive (Mirena) is 1:200. Of course, you can do a future semen test to confirm that you are still infertile. But we do not recommend it as secondary failure is rare, and more importantly, a subsequent negative test cannot predict future failure.

      @@snipvasectomyclinic very good description thank you :) have you at your clinic had someone come back and say it failed after the initial test proved clear

      @@snipvasectomyclinic I have a question out of curiosity..why doesn’t the urologist just totally destroy the vas by cutting each one really short instead of just one cut each? That way reconnection would be absolutely impossible

    Is the doctor after vasectomy? Would be nice to know if he happy with the outcomes..
    It seem to be very risky to get pain in there for any reason especially after self imposed surgery.. that would be a failure and big mistake

      Yes in this position. I just worry about getting chronic pain afterwards 😬
