18 years have passed, and I still can’t get the power of Goldfrapp out of my head. People didn’t seem to get it In the mid 2000’s??? Then everyone is rehashing their synth and beat sounds unmasse as if it’s ‘Fresh’ hahaha 🙄🙄 You buy blackcherry or supernature now, most people would think they were released last week !!! I’m Just glad that my love of all types of music made me buy blackcherry back in uni, (and I’ve still got the CD’s ,so say 2003-5. Driving home in my car last night through the country after a long hike, sulernature blasting…I felt complete. Woke up this morning and I’ve got a spring in my step, most people would think I’m 32, not 42. Goldfrapp happily seem personal to US, and I’m glad the music sheep 🐑 didn’t adopt it. And actually none of my uni friends liked them much..lol it was like the Yeah,Yeah,yeahs it seemed like it was a time in my life where I was the only one listening to the music that I held dear, and it’s much the same now. I’m just glad that there’s others out there like me, who can years later recall when they first experienced buying an album 💿 and the effect that, that purchase has made on their lives for the better. I’ll be 90 years old replaying goldfrapp and I bet even then, windows rolled down on the car, a nice sunny day, and a group of teenagers will hear it and think 🤔 “is that old man listening to dance music” 😂🤣💪 I can’t wait.

I remember the first time I heard Goldfrapp. It was on MySpace and it was this song. This is not my usual type of music, but Goldfrapp is an exception. This song, Lovely Head & Drew are my favorites.
My fist exposure was when they used one of her songs (Strict Machine) in a commercial for Pocket GameBoy. At the time Internet access was fairly new (it was about '99) and I was amazed that I was able to email the company and ask about the music, get a response, and find the whole song within a day & a half. In "the old days" it would have taken a week to write a letter and get a response, and then another few days before getting to the store to find the album or single. That was when I realized how awesome "the future" is.
