Thank you, you helped me to take the cover off. I tried to take it off using a screwdriver but not in a million years would i have guessed that i will need a heavy force like a hammer. And the nut on my impeller was normal threaded for some reason, perhaps it must spin the other way around.
the impeller bolt is just on a reverse thread. hold the axle on other end with pliers (most motors have some of axle poking out, but this one doesn't, but being very careful it can be clamped from moving by reaching in through holes), then loosen bolt in opposite direction: righty=loosen. All that trouble for nothing!
I used grips on the belt end of the shaft (close to the motor so I didn't do any damage to the where belt sits then used an impact gun on the nut (reverse thread)
between 2:25 - 2:32 where did you get the black circle part, i mean suddenly it was popped up out of nowhere? I don't know the name of it but I think it's a washer or bearing.

Ametek motor in our shop vac is completely un serviceable. I want to change the bearings but the cage is entirely made of one piece plastic. No screws to remove the cage even after removing the impeller. Ordered new motor just for the noisy bearing.

This method didn't work for me. Ended up bending the piece.
@@claudiafilipa423 apply a little warm engine oil and allow it to sink. It will unscrew.
I used a pipe wrench, worked great. Made me cringe when I saw this guy cut the nut off.

this is a spring washer, placed in front of the bearing in the rotor, before pushing the rotor into the stator,
