Love this car, i’ve had my x3 m40i now for about two months and have only good things to say about it. If MPG is of interest and important to you then the m40d is a good alternative, as the power is still immense and getting anywhere near 45 mpg is just not possible for the m40i but for me I don’t care about mpg so went for the petrol. Great video as always thank you
Ahh glad you are enjoying your car! The M40i is a cracking bit of kit, definitely agree with you though, the M40d is also a great choice.

What MPG are you getting from the M40i?
On a long motorway run I’ve had 34mpg, day to day short trips is 25 - 29mpg. Hope this helps
Im looking at both the m40d and m40i at the moment. Really not sure what the big difference is apart from fuel economy. From what i read they now have the same 0-62 and limited top speed. Could i ask u what it was that made u lean towards the petrol version? Thanks
Correction 550l boot space not the 450 you said
not sure why at 2:30 or so, the vents behind the front wheel arches REDUCE the efficiency? surely they improve?
Whats your thoughts on the comparison between the m40d and m40i petrol version?
Both are great cars, it depends on your usage of them. Less miles I'd take the M40i, more mileage I'd take the M40d.
@@SytnerTV thanks for your reply much appreciated. I have been looking at both and the current engine performance stats are both 4.9seconds 0-62 with the same limited top speed. The economy is the only place i can see a difference in performance
