I expect to take delivery of mine in the next few weeks. I have never owned a mini before and test drove the regular f66 s some time ago and I was really impressed. I can't compare to previous models but I don't see why the new f66 should get so much negativity. It drives fantastic, looks fresh and even a bit sharper and modern, and the new interior feels very spacious for such a little car. I am a fan!
4:45 No, we don't have to accept, that in a JCW we don't get proper exhaust sound. We don't have to accept that the world is faking every thing possible. We don't have to accept screens instead of physical buttons. Have you tried adjusting the aircon or turning off the auto start stop on a slightly bumpy road? Does your finger get freezing cold when you want to do a couple of things on that screen in low temperatures? It is a great car, but there are things that need to go - from my perspective as a F66 Cooper S owner.
@@adamra187 I have no idea but as the guy said under me EU cars all have opf filters now. It used to be just diesels with dpf but is now also petrol cars. This means pretty much all cars since 2018 sound like absolute ass (in europe)
As an owner of a 2022 JCW Sport I was invited by my local Mini dealer to test out the new one. Personally i like the looks, the proportions look a tad bit better and i love the design of the lights too. I dont mind the excessive use of fabric in the interior. However the fabric used on the dash and doorcards feels very rough and cheap. The infotainment is kinda slow too. Biggest deal breaker for me would be the absence of physical controls for air conditioning and the absence of manual transmission as an option. So yeah, the design is awesome, driving dynamics are great too but it just doesnt feel good when you start interacting with the car like an actual owner would.
I’d still take a 1st or 2nd gen JCW over this everyday. Firstly this car is uglier then the older ones, but also this car is way too civilized, a JCW is supposed to be aggressive and a bit mad, this just isn’t, and the noise being pumped through the speakers as a lot of cars are nowadays is the final straw 😫
Matt. Still a classic Mini. This is the one to have. Know someone with exactly this model. She says in comparison with her previous JCW Mini , it is ( as you say) " more grown up". And the quality, finish and fit a step up. Personally, a little more " aggressive" styling would be welcome.
"Grown up" means toned down, so that people who really want soft saloons, can still claim they have a drivers car. They are fooling no one at all, they have paid top money but chosen not to receive the design elements that the car was created to provide. You can't get really hot korma, 30 year old, 30% proof tequila does not taste like Coca Cola, and drivers cars are not "grown up" when the edge is taken off.
Hello ...from Romania I want to buy one of these cars: the new mini JCW or Ford focus st edition manual transmission.......they have same price.........but i wonder if you can test drive the 2024 focus st edition and give me your feedback between these 2 cars.........i have discussion with both car dealers.....but i must decide which one.....
OMG, I'm in the exact same position, although I've added a Mazda (3, Skyactiv-X 186) to the mix. I've driven the new Cooper S - loved everything about it, except for the exhaust (it's a sad joke). Then there's Mazda - a completely different car, granted, but it's such a looker I simply can't get it out of my head. It's way slower then the MINI, but on the other hand it has a refreshingly oldschool feel - a N/A engine, fantastic manual gearbox plus a stunningly beautiful and classy analog interior. I haven't driven the Focus yet (can't find one anywhere near me), but it seems to have all the best from both worlds - MINI's performance with Mazda's cargo space, minus the styling of either.
Car looks so good!!The same horsepower than the old one model….Mini only has interest on the ev versions. But I hope to see the next Gp model only on combustion engine.
I don't know... I just see cost-cutting everywhere with this model. The previous one was much, much better in my opinion. And the single exhaust? Personally, not a fan at all. Feels like a step backward.
Seems like a very lazy offer IMO. Where are the big brakes? Where are the other visual enhancements that differentiate it above a Cooper S Sport or whatever it is. Get the feeling BMW don’t really care about the MINI brand that much these days. Should have more power, it’s still got similar power to models from years ago.
To me the last generation looked much more sporting, had a far superior quality looking cabin BUT most importantly to me you could get a manual.... I`ll stick with my Abarth 595 thank you..
If you don't have a duel exhaust on a jcw its not a jcw on the normal one i can accept but not a jcw i hope when they do the next gen GP its duel exhaust and has more that 306hp
Not a fan I'm afraid. The grille is ugly looking and cheap, the wing mirrors look too big, the rear end is just horrid and doesn't really look very mini like, the single pipe looks like an anus, and it sounds naff. Unpopular opinion i do have is that the interior is actually very nice looking i think. Very minimalistic which i think is quite cool. However I'll keep my JCW Pro spec F56, just appeals so much more than this in pretty much every way except the interior (and even that is still a nice place to be).
Went to see one in person, honestly it doesn’t look that bad, but fake sound. Just feels like an imposter. I’ll stick to my f56 jcw , I’ll be surprised if the sales for these are good. Literally no point in getting the jcw over the s model

You are right but the exhaust isn't BMW/Mini's fault but laws and regulations.
@@Supraifyification How does Hyundai get away with the Elantra N? It's almost a race sounding exhaust.
@@adamra187 simply - it's not offered in the EU, unlike the MINI

Sounded more like an advert for MINI than an unbiased review.
Well it’s from a dealer, obviously they want to sell some…

Love the new look. Simple, clean and modern. 👌❤️

2021 LCI 2 Model feels so much better quality-wise

I’ve been tempted to trade in my JCW for this but it just doesn’t look as exciting as the older ones?
should‘ve shown how the car sounds from the outside….

Looks boring compared to previous models. And having everything on that screen instead of real buttons is stupid. And dangerous.

Nice enough but no manual option is a real shame plus the lack of physical controls will not age well IMO

why don't minis come in RWD? considering the form factor, its not that unreasonable.
Looks like a Temu version of Mini.

Only available as an auto, big mistake, no thanks.
A car without a spare tyre...
Shitty car like all new models nowadays
Looks quite cheap compared to the r56 jcw
