- "Michael Jordan is taking over the game!" Time and time again, Jordan imposed his will on the opposition, as well as the NBA history books!
The Chicago Bulls & Milwaukee Bucks had so many epic games during Michael Jordan's career, but this game in particular is one Jordan fans will never forget. Every single time the Bulls made a run, in this contest, the Bucks made a larger run. Terry Cummings, Jack Sikma, and Larry Krystkowiak all had monster games. Jack Sikma showed that 7 footers could shoot 3's in the 80's, Terry Cummings put together his typical masterpiece second half, Larry Krystkowiak dominated Horace Grant physically on the boards, and Paul Pressey (the original Point Forward) had a nice game with his passing as well. This was some tough competition!
The Bucks were poised to defeat the Chicago Bulls on their home court at the old barn, Chicago Stadium. But Michael Jordan had different plans.
Not one to quit, Michael Jordan unleashed a furious clutch comeback, and was relentless with his attack off the dribble. Michael Jordan would fuel the comeback with a balanced attack of playmaking and scoring. This is prime Michael Jordan. You can't stop him, you can only hope to defeat his teammates.
Michael Jordan responded with a 27 point 4th quarter. That's right, Jordan scored 27 points, in the 4th quarter... while attempting to keep his teammates involved. This was on the heels of 12 points in the 3rd quarter, giving Michael Jordan a 39 point second half.
Here's how Michael "Air" Jordan's clutch comeback scoring broke down:
39 points - In the 2nd half
27 points - In the 4th quarter
25 points - In the final 9 minutes 16 seconds
15 points - In the final 3 minutes 14 seconds
11 points - In the final 110 seconds
9 points - In the final 64 seconds
7 points - In the final 51 seconds
And, also of note, Michael Jordan shot his free throws about 2 feet beyond the free throw line, at about 17 feet away, throughout the game. Jordan went to longer free throws, as a practice, a few times throughout his career.
Ladies & gentlemen, prime Michael Jordan! Only one!

Jordan is the GOAT in team sports.
anyone who compares anyone to him has never seen him play.
Sikma could start for any NBA team today.
You make it sound as if today's NBA is better.
Nobody can say that these Milwaukee Bucks weren't a tough team. Look at all the impressive players/scorers they had. A lot of teams back in the day were like this.
yeah, milwaukee had sum solid sqwads back those daze mane ✌🏿
tha east was deep
Oh yeah .
Bucks team was stacked, solid players with expérience .
The bulls was in the making
His Airness the Greatest Clutch Perfomer Of All-time
Terry Cummings was an absolute monster.....
Jordan a clutch gawd...classic call by Johnny Kerr
For sure! I remember C-webb telling when he was rookie terry cumings was the strongest players he ever faced
Terry's first 8 seasons he averaged 20ppg. When Sidney Moncrief was healthy, they were tough.
Wow...those bank shots...the far free throws...determination, persistence, perseverance...the best....
This is an amazing channel. Thank you so much for these classic uploads👏👏👏
yeah, he been upload’n sum classicc sh!t mane…lotta these junts eye had’nt seen n yrz
I distinctly remember watching this game. Great upload.
Always wanted to see this entire game Blitz! Amazing upload as always. 😂
For sure. This was a treat. I’ve seen that last sequence with Jordan scoring a million times but never the game.
Back in the 80s, that Bucks team was really loaded. One can see how much talent they had, and how many weapons they could throw at you. The Bulls put in a great effort to come from behind and beat them in that game. And Michael Jordan showing people, that don't know, who he is.
Lebron fans who always mention Jordans 1-9 record and act like he was just a HOFer right away 31:57 "Scottie Pippen is not really a bonafide defensive stopper" the perception kids have that Pippen was this all time great 2 way player right away is the narrative thats passed around. Pip had to develop next to Jordan,
I'd also like to point out that Pippen in both '89 and '90 had fewer win shares than Ilgauskas, Gooden and Varejao had for Cleveland in 2007.
Nice memories, I remember watching this game in my friends college dorm room in 1989. The glory days of NBA. today it sucks. $40 million guys can take nights off and not give it their all.

I've seen this game winner multiple times but this is the first time watching the full game highlights and it makes the gw a lot more impressive. Ppl under 30 like me watch a couple of mj mixtapes without any context and think they know everything about the era he played in, and swear that lbj is better than him. I'm not even comfortable saying mj is the undisputed goat bc i havent seen enough of kareem, bill russell, wilt to really know
beyond clutch!!!
Terry Cummings underrated ✌️
One word "Wow"
these tha yrz where tha real lejend of mj was made - tha old chicago stadium, air jordan yrz…kang sh!t 👑
It’s so interesting how many time Bill Cartwright injures another player. And that windmill shot
I never understand what Krause was thinking when he traded Oakley for Cartright.
This trade alone made sure 1990 Bulls do not beat pistons in Game 7 at The Palace.
with Oakley playing in 1989 Bulls, I can see MJ winning back-2-back MVP at 32.5/8/8 stats for 81 games in 1989.
With Oakley, 1990 Bulls play 1990 Blazers in one-for-the-ages 7 games 1990 finals.
If Clyde and 1990 Blazers can push 1990 Pistons to 5 games, I can see 1990 Bulls with oakman win Game 7 at Chicago.
And MJ will 4-peat by 1993. Cartright was that bad. That pathetic "windmill shot", those horrible knees, he played a slow motion game.
slowing everyone down. MJ, Pippen, Grant, Paxon all 4 starters. No wonder why Jordan hated him. I was MJ, I'll never pass the ball.
I'll say exactly what Kobe use to say. "want the shot, go get the rebound." and remember, Kobe said to NBAs best big men on Lakers, Gasol and Bynum back then. and those two actually bailed kobe's bad shot selection with championships.
bill was as gangly and awkward as any 7ft guy could be. and his shot looked absolutely hideous. but he did exactly what krause brought him in to do: clog the lane and keep the bulls from being overpowered in the paint every night
@@beery6659 No it wasnt, I was a Knicks fan at that time and us getting Oakley meant he was our PF for the next decade.
MJ ♾️🐐.
There is a reason why Pippen developed to a passer…no go-to moves
SUPERB upload! Thanks as always Blitz Sports.
Lechoke would pass that ball to a teammate if that was him. 23 is the GOAT! 😎
This was a game for the ages! MJ began the game missing his first free throw attempt and I believe he had missed a crazy amount of free throws the previous game vs the Hawks. But then he went on to hit like 18 in a row this game!!! And he also got banged in the nose so he was nursing a bloody nose the rest of the game. That 2nd half and 4th qtr was one of the most memorable performances of his career.
Terry Cummings was not playing around!!
THERE GOES THAT MAN
I wish I had the athleticism of MJ
The two white dudes on the bucks where putting in work!!
Sikma a Center shooting 38% from 3 and 90% fts
Why tf did dude try and keep the ball in? Passed it straight to Pippen
milwaukee 23 got cooked by air jordan at the end
Pippen = liability, grant = asset 😮 outside of a layup or dunk, Pippen has no game.
Man, that # 23's not bad for being a horrible player! Maybe scottie's drank too much of that digits bourbon he's trying to sell! Might explain why he's lost his digits when reflecting on who Michael Jordan really was!
Classic games were the best they are to soft in today's game
Another terrible game by Jordan, according to Pippen.
The Milwaukee bucks were a great team but jordan was incredible ….best there ever was at crunch time ….phenomenal
Those highlights were better than anything coming from the nba since prime kobe!!!!!
