  • "Michael Jordan is taking over the game!" Time and time again, Jordan imposed his will on the opposition, as well as the NBA history books!
The Chicago Bulls & Milwaukee Bucks had so many epic games during Michael Jordan's career, but this game in particular is one Jordan fans will never forget. Every single time the Bulls made a run, in this contest, the Bucks made a larger run. Terry Cummings, Jack Sikma, and Larry Krystkowiak all had monster games. Jack Sikma showed that 7 footers could shoot 3's in the 80's, Terry Cummings put together his typical masterpiece second half, Larry Krystkowiak dominated Horace Grant physically on the boards, and Paul Pressey (the original Point Forward) had a nice game with his passing as well. This was some tough competition!
The Bucks were poised to defeat the Chicago Bulls on their home court at the old barn, Chicago Stadium. But Michael Jordan had different plans.
Not one to quit, Michael Jordan unleashed a furious clutch comeback, and was relentless with his attack off the dribble. Michael Jordan would fuel the comeback with a balanced attack of playmaking and scoring. This is prime Michael Jordan. You can't stop him, you can only hope to defeat his teammates.
Michael Jordan responded with a 27 point 4th quarter. That's right, Jordan scored 27 points, in the 4th quarter... while attempting to keep his teammates involved. This was on the heels of 12 points in the 3rd quarter, giving Michael Jordan a 39 point second half.
Here's how Michael "Air" Jordan's clutch comeback scoring broke down:
    39 points - In the 2nd half
    27 points - In the 4th quarter
25 points - In the final 9 minutes 16 seconds
15 points - In the final 3 minutes 14 seconds
11 points - In the final 110 seconds
9 points - In the final 64 seconds
7 points - In the final 51 seconds
And, also of note, Michael Jordan shot his free throws about 2 feet beyond the free throw line, at about 17 feet away, throughout the game. Jordan went to longer free throws, as a practice, a few times throughout his career.
Ladies & gentlemen, prime Michael Jordan! Only one!

Back in the 80s, that Bucks team was really loaded. One can see how much talent they had, and how many weapons they could throw at you. The Bulls put in a great effort to come from behind and beat them in that game. And Michael Jordan showing people, that don't know, who he is.

Lebron fans who always mention Jordans 1-9 record and act like he was just a HOFer right away 31:57 "Scottie Pippen is not really a bonafide defensive stopper" the perception kids have that Pippen was this all time great 2 way player right away is the narrative thats passed around. Pip had to develop next to Jordan,

I'd also like to point out that Pippen in both '89 and '90 had fewer win shares than Ilgauskas, Gooden and Varejao had for Cleveland in 2007.

I never understand what Krause was thinking when he traded Oakley for Cartright.
This trade alone made sure 1990 Bulls do not beat pistons in Game 7 at The Palace.
with Oakley playing in 1989 Bulls, I can see MJ winning back-2-back MVP at 32.5/8/8 stats for 81 games in 1989.
With Oakley, 1990 Bulls play 1990 Blazers in one-for-the-ages 7 games 1990 finals.
If Clyde and 1990 Blazers can push 1990 Pistons to 5 games, I can see 1990 Bulls with oakman win Game 7 at Chicago.
And MJ will 4-peat by 1993. Cartright was that bad. That pathetic "windmill shot", those horrible knees, he played a slow motion game.
slowing everyone down. MJ, Pippen, Grant, Paxon all 4 starters. No wonder why Jordan hated him. I was MJ, I'll never pass the ball.
I'll say exactly what Kobe use to say. "want the shot, go get the rebound." and remember, Kobe said to NBAs best big men on Lakers, Gasol and Bynum back then. and those two actually bailed kobe's bad shot selection with championships.

This was a game for the ages! MJ began the game missing his first free throw attempt and I believe he had missed a crazy amount of free throws the previous game vs the Hawks. But then he went on to hit like 18 in a row this game!!! And he also got banged in the nose so he was nursing a bloody nose the rest of the game. That 2nd half and 4th qtr was one of the most memorable performances of his career.
