Very honest review. I like the APX. I wound up buying 3.. lol Pretty fun. You can make it even better.. lol A Galloway Precision stainless striker spring and a TR-1 Crocadile trigger.. Kinda expensive, but it's now a 3lbs trigger now. I wish I can find a Combat.

We had some serious spring related issues with our new APX A1 Tactical. That's why we don't have the review finished yet. Because of that, I almost bought the Galloway recoil spring, but I wasn't sure about it. I ended up getting another Beretta HD competition spring, and it is running great. I am glad to hear the Galloway spring is good, and it was inexpensive too. Opportunity missed, I guess.
As to the trigger, I considered it, but the green striker really improved the OEM trigger. If the A1 Tac turns out to be a much better gun, it may get a new trigger. The A1 is a bit gritty compared to the Combat, but we have a gazillion rounds through the Combat, so that may be why. Good luck in your search for one. I guess you could just buy a threaded barrel and drop it in a full size, but I guess it's not exactly the same. Thanks for watching and for the info. We appreciate it.

Overwatch Precision will be releasing a trigger for the APX. It’s on their site but not yet released. Much more inexpensive than the Croc TLR1 trigger.

The Overwatch is just a shoe. The TR-1 is a whole system. Trigger, bar, springs and plonger. Hence, pricier. The TR-1 Croc is impressive. A lot of thought. Lighter here. Smoother there. It's how it's 3-3.5lbs. Better than the Steyr. Quicker reset.

Best video explanation on the APX and its upgrade capabilities by far.
Beretta A1 grip can fit the AO chassis to fix that beaver tail issue. Also Beretta sells an extended mag release and a slide release as-well if you wanted to go that route.
Only issue I’ve had is the extended 21 round magazines losing their last round hold open capabilities. Sent 4 of them back to Beretta and all 4 eventually started to not hold open after using them for a couple of months. I eventually went the Beretta magwell route. It’s best to use the 21 round springs on the magwell extension mags (this will limit you to 18 rounds) as the 17 round springs will eventually not hold open aswell.
Thanks for the video. You guys rock!!!

Thanks for the compliment, and I am glad we are not alone in noticing the strange beavertail to undercut ratio issue on the Gen 1 APX. As we showed at the end of the video, we have the new A1 Tactical, and they fixed the strange grip. The new grip module is actually pretty damn amazing, with the high double undercuts.
I looked at the the other options for the APX, but opted not to add anything else. The magwell really had me interested, but like you, people noted in their reviews on Beretta's site that they were having issues with hold open and they lost capacity. I was actually considering the manual frame safety, as I love them as thumb rests, and I could leave this thing on the nightstand with a suppressor on it and no need for a holster, but they are a bit pricy, and I am not sure how it would effect the grip, due to the weird beavertail issue.
Thanks for the additional info, and thanks for the kind words. We enjoy interacting with everyone. The Beretta APX A1 Tactical review and head to head coming soon.

Objectively a MOST excellent intro. I got into a Gen1 for practically nothing, and was completely unimpressed while being 100% reliable. The Gen2 seems far better, but in no way am I compelled to own one. I am confident it's good, but I doubt it's great. BTW, Nightwood sent me

It's awesome that Nightwood sent you. We are big fans. I will have to thank him. We hope we didn't disappoint you, or make a liar out of him.
As to the gen 1 APX Combat, as we said, really quirky and not too great out of the box. I don't know if you added the spring and striker to yours, but it really made a difference, and it is an amazing suppressor host, but that's all we use it for.
As you saw in the video, we do have the new model and it is a mixed bag so far, but the major improvement is the grip. They fixed it, and it is pretty awesome. We look forward to getting the review out soon. We hope to see you back for that video. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it.

I call the Apex. I think that's what they were going for.
Wondering how it compares to the SW Equalizer. They look similar, though they probably aren't the same.

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment  4 месяца назад +1

Haven't heard from you in awhile. The equalizer is a very different firearm. It is much smaller and designed for carry, and to assist people with low hand strength. It is basically successor to the S&W EZ.
The APX Combat is a full sized, 5", 17 round grip, combat handgun with a threaded barrel. It's kind of the poor man's FN 509 Tactical, as it costs half of the FN, but fills the same roll. We found it works best as a supressor host and range toy. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Always good to hear from you.

After watching John Wick 1 thru the last one, I noticed he does not use lights on his guns. Given that John Wick is most likely the best ever, would it not be more beneficial to follow his example?
