The opening line to David Bowie's 'Word On A Wing' from his 'Station To Station' album ('Station To Station', as I understand it, is a reference to the stations of the cross); a song about praying to Jesus. It was supposed to be in the soundtrack of the movie-'The Man Who Fell To Earth'-but the film makers decided to use an instrumental soundtrack by John Phillips instead. There's a scene in the movie where he enters a Baptist church. And yes, I do share the same birthday as Mama Cass Eliot. I'm also a Baptist, and I was also born again on my 'earthly' birthday, which is the same as Mama Cass Eliot. I remember my folks, many moons ago, listening to The Mamas and Papas' "Words Of Love". In my memory, one of the few happy moments they had in their marriage. They both loved that song. There's a line in the song that goes-'If you love her then you must send her somewhere where she's never been before'. She said-"No, I didn't know that; but did you know that your brother once attended a party at her house?" "Mom, my brother went to a party at Mama Cass Eliot's house?!" She explained: My brother, back in 1970, was a guitarist for a drummer/singer named Buddy Miles (I knew that), and they were once invited over to Mama Cass's house for one of her notorious parties (I didn't know that). The same evening they left Mama Cass's house and ended up where the Jackson 5 were then staying. That was around the time they recorded-"I'll Be There".
