"Unlike any other car" is so true. During my long motoring career, I have owned numerous cars which have become classics. (E Type, Lotus, MGVA, Cosworth, Caterham's etc), but I can genuinely say that an 05 LS430 purchased last year is the best of the bunch. Will never part with it! Thank you for this excellent video.
As a first car.....wow......you do have the problem of tasting that luxury and not knowing how to go backwards because there is not many cars ahead of this except maybe Rolls Royce and Bentley.
I have this car. Even modern day family cars don't have my features and that is 20 years ago. Car has everything, d/g windows, fridge, rear electric reclining leather seats, heated/massage seats, rear sensors, climate, blacked out rear windows, cooled seats and keyless start/entry. To name a few.
I went to Madrid to purchase a Mercedes s 500 2012. I asked about the 430 that was parked , it was an ultra luxury with everything, the leather was unreal, so I tried it out and ended up driving it back to Málaga, it was the most luxurious comfortable drive I have ever experienced and I have driven and owned only top end Mercedes. O really believe that this is one of the finest all round luxury cars that gives you no problems, nothing. So to anyone looking at purchasing a ls 430, do it and go for the ultra luxury package, they just don't make them like this anymore.
I've got an 01 LS430 in Mystic Metallic Gold with the Modern Luxury package. Just crossed over 170k miles and still smooth. I've done some suspension replacement due to aged bushings, valve cover gaskets, and new EVAP piping. However, I've upgraded from the optioned 2001-03 17" 7 spoke wheels to the 2004-06 18" 5 Spoke LS SportLine wheels and plan on swapping out the rear sway bar for the Sport Suspension model sway bar, read that it helps keep the rear end stable at highway speeds and lessens the crosswind drift effect.
BTCRAIL101FILMS I like the wheels on my car, I think they’re mega classic. The sport line rimes are cool, I was looking at a car with chrome sport line wheels. I thought the chome looked nice. Thanks for watching
@@Maybe1Someday The chrome wheels look good on certain color 430s. Mine, ehh, plus I've read from the ClubLexus forums that the chromes can be hard to keep clean and maintain the chrome finish with age and use. Even the aluminum finish wheels suffer from bubbling with age due to how Toyota casted the wheels
Very good video review, i have been researching the LS430 since January as i am looking to buy it for my first car and I am impressed with what I have heard regarding it's reliability, comfort, and smoothness of the ride. I think between September and October I will be ready to go on and buy my own LS430 just looking around and test driving some of the LS430s in my local area that are for sale. Wanna make sure i'm getting the best one. Also i am not keen on getting the ultra luxury as the price of replacing or switching the air suspension can be pretty costly once that air suspension goes out. So I will be making sure I am looking for Custom Luxury or Modern Luxury LS430s preferably the 04-06 models
Oh I forgot to mention... I have Costume luxury 05 w 145k . So I time to replace lower control arm bushings. At first I got the oem ones but u have to press. I’m a tech so I have access to this tools. Then I saw Figs poly bushings, I was thinking it was going change my car ride since there poly. Tbh I can feel the road a little more but more stiffer in steering and tighter. Best upgrade I ever done. But everything does I had replace it’s been oem.. only way to go..
I did a muffler delete on my ls 430 and it sounds great. The only downside is it drones from 1600 to 1800 rpm when cruising on the highway. My exhaust tips do not go fully past the rear bumper so that may be the cause.
@Shawnsta 777 I put some sound deadening under the trunk in the spare tire area and that got rid of the really bad drone. It still drones but is more bearable. I'll let you know if I extend the tips.
@@Mabeylater293 I see you commenting on all ls430 videos lmao. Everyone has their own likings and opinions. Personally I think it sounds great and is not obnoxious on the outside. I think it would be ruined if it was a nuisance to other people (which it isn't because it's not loud on the outside). Also, there are plenty of "luxury" cars that sound great, most german luxury cars. The ls430 is great, but it is boring. I enjoy it more now that I can hear the v8 purr rather than it sounding like a hybrid on the outside.
@@SonicSuperWaffle Nothing boring about luxury and quiet interiors while still having effortless acceleration and an awesome mark levinson stereo. But with the added exhaust noise ruining the interior ambiance, you just lowered the luxury quotient of your car significantly.
@@Mabeylater293 At the moment, the drone is the only thing that somewhat ruins the ambiance. Once I install performance mufflers, the annoying sound will go away. When the car isn't droning (above or below 2000 rpm), you still can't really hear the exhaust because of the laminated glass and extensive sound deadening. Currently, the suspension's air compressor is still louder than the actual exhaust note heard in cabin. Besides, I don't plan on selling the car ever. I know the engine will last forever, and the transmission will have to rebuilt around 300k+ miles, which I will do myself. I am not worried about resale value. Oh and the Mark Levinson subwoofer was great when it worked, but it blew out on me a few months ago and i had it replaced with a lower quality pioneer unit (I've seen ML subwoofers for $800, so no thanks). I don't really listen to music in the car much, I would rather just cruise and hear the v8 roll through the gears.
hahaha.... you let the carbon stay where it is. I blow the carbon out. We have strict emissions inspections in CA. Gotta keep the EGR clear. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I'm always amazed how quiet and smooth it is. I love my 05. I think the smart access key was standard in 2004. The LS had optional navigation starting in 2000 with the second gen. Also the 2000 model year Honda Odyssey was the first minivan to have optional factory nav. 2000 was the really early years of factory nav.
@@Maybe1Someday That’s rare. Those transmissions are literally bulletproof. Best not to change the fluid. Lexus says lifetime and that’s actually true unlike other automakers that say it.
@@Mabeylater293 I was asking because at the time I was looking for a car like this. After numerous amount of research it seems these things are basically bullet proof. I ended up buying an 04 and absolutely love it
If u see the parking sensors around the car it’s an ultra lux, if not then it’s base model, but either one is baller af and every other car feels like dogshit compared to the ls😈

Using a wheel chair to make the whole 360 view of the car steady, now that’s clever
Joseph Gualvez Yeah I was wondering why I hadn’t seen people use one before
So smart
Maybe his previous car was a bmw and it cost him an arm and a leg.
I love my LS 430 My family has four of them!
If all of them are in black and yall are in a convoy people are going to think that u r important
@@ariyankhan4337 haha just 430 and lx470 both black is enough mate 😂😂👍

Just got a ‘04 as my first car. 15 days before my 17th birthday. Love my Lexi. Had her exactly a month today actually
hows ur ownership going? was thinking bout this as a first car too
chucklesfrodo still love that car, put 4K on her and she drives beautiful. Every other car you get in feels cheap, nothing can compare
Damn nice car to start off. This car beats out any brand new Ford or Chevy
Keep it for many decades.

I have a 2006 SC430 with the same engine. Many similarities (smooth, powerful, quiet) but able to drop the top during nice weather. Love it!

this gotta be one of the best reviews of an 2nd gen LS430

I just bought a 2006 Lexus SC430. Same engine as in the LS you reviewed, but in a heavy grand touring drop-the-top convertible. Love it!
Ive heard people liking those
The driving portion begins at 10:42 near the end I give out two Easter eggs I know of on the car
I'd never heard of that second Easter egg before.

I think it's the Nissan Primera that had a reverse camera first....
Why does no one care to modify these as a perfromance sedan bc the stock bottom can handle 600hp
