A correction to the cross shown on the distance marker. Those are templar crosses. The Santiago cross goes to a point at the base. The arms have fleurs-de-lis on either side, and there is one on the head of the cross as well, although it is styled a little different. The head forms a pommel, the arms a cross guard, and the base is a blade, making the cross resemble a sword. This represents St. James' martyrdom by sword, and the warriors of the Reconquista. Supposedly, having a point on the cross served another purpose, that being that you could stick it into the ground hold mass anywhere, perfect for troops on the move.
@@mr.hallstrailguide589 I just love the little facts and trivia that often go overlooked! I'm the kind of person that will pull over on the highway just to see those historical markers!
As I recall, you said you were from Israel and I was worried something might have happened to you because of the war. Glad to hear from you. Here's a private link to the video which you should be able to download. Warning: it's a big file. ruclips.net/video/bLClgh4T9Zc/видео.html
I'm going to miss this when you complete your Camino. I've enjoyed your journey. ❤
Thanks! There's still 12 weeks to go.

I stand corrected. Thanks.

@@marshalt Thanks! Given that you seem to know quite a bit about the Camino, that is quite the compliment.
