I'd def recommend getting an opinion from an Orthopedist/someone who specializes in Orthopedics for your injury. They'll most likely be able to give you a better analysis of your disc and hip injuries, as well as your next steps to recovery. Don't worry girl you'll be ok! I completely understand your frustration 🧡 you!
You don't have to apologize for crying. Chronic pain can be exhausting, especially when it limits you from doing the things you love. Your feelings are completely valid. Ugh girl I feel your pain 😭😭 I had a really bad back injury, I woke up and literally could not even roll over in bed... it was a situation, I ended up being in the hospital and having to do physical therapy... the chiropractor terrified me honestly, I felt like he was making it worse, but one thing that did help me was water therapy, I was able to strengthen without all the weight and pressure.... hope this helps! You poor thing!! I also have a lower back injury. Ice, ice, ice. Don't bend over! My chiro says that short walks are the best thing for my lower back. I feel for you, low back pain is the worst. I've been set back so many times. Adjustments and walking (no weightlifting) were the only thing that got me out of pain. He gave me some gentle exercises to do, cobras, hip lifts. Don't push it!! Stretching too much or yoga type shit can make the injury worse. Hang in there, it will just take some time. I know how frustrating it is. You are amazing and I'm sending you so much love to you and Sara!

I'm an athletic trainer and I see these injuries all the time in football player. Go see an ortho or a sports physio. Chiropractors just adjust your bones but don't fix the root of the problem. Especially if you have scoliosis, you need to be doing treatments to lengthen the tight muscles and strengthen the weak ones.
Hi Megan, I’m sorry to hear about your back. I have the same injury, lower back bulging disc diagnosed last year. I had the same pain, couldn’t sit for too long and had to ask my mum to clean my house. I struggled to bend over to pull up my socks and dry myself after a shower. I promise you it will get better! I started pilates everyday and stopped heavy lifting. I see a physiotherapist regularly who has given me great advice on stretching and massaging to relieve the back spasms. It took a bit of time but the pain will lessen. I now have no pain bending over and can sit comfortably. I’m sure you’ll find your way through this and hope that pain lessens for you soon!

when you started crying about your injury, i felt your pain so much. i pulled a nerve in my right hamstring in 2018 from dance. i eventually didn’t feel anymore pain but then the same pain came back last year when i started dance again. i was stretching everyday and didn’t even do anything extreme so i was so frustrated. i cried almost everyday because i had to sit out and even walking became painful. being restricted from something you love because your body cannot take it is so heartbreaking. i hope you find something that works soon and i pray for your recovery❤️

It's the worst when you feel like you are doing everything you are supposed to too heal but your body just isn't cooperating. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must feel for you because you have such a passion for lifting 😔 Hopefully seeing your mom will help you decompress. We are all rooting for you 💗

*You might have better luck with an ORTHOPEDIC, they commonly deal with sports injuries so they'll take their time with you...even do physical therapy if they think it can be managed without doing surgery* 👍👍
Just a suggestion for you, is try to find a chiropractor that does decompression. I'm dealing with low back pain. L4 or L5 is where mine is bothering me. I've been suffering the past 4 months and just started decompression treatments because regular adjustments just aren't doing it for me. So I've been going in once a week the past 2 weeks (so I've only had 2 treatments so far) but I have noticed huge changes in how I feel. It helps stretch out and separate your vertebrae to help relieve the pressure on bulging disks. You should really check into this. I've cried many tears of frustration. I feel you girl!! But I get adjustments right after the decompression sessions. Just a suggestion for you. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! Lots of love❤
I swear I cried when you cried I’m not even lying! Please go see an orthopedic surgeon my aunt had the same thing happened to her and she ended up having a surgery! I’m not trying to scare you but please go to an orthopedic surgeon rather than a chiropractic! Much love and kissed 💕 hopefully you will feel better soon
I have a bulged disk too and went to a neurologist for it. He told me to avoid going to a chiropractor because an adjustment could make the bulge worse. I got prescribed tramadol (pain med) and diclofenac (muscle relaxer) and that was the only think that made the pain go away for a while. Also he told me to do planks every day and that swimming would also help a lot, but to avoid sit ups/any workouts that make you strain your back and heavy lifting

I feel your exact pain Megan. And it breaks my heart. I had a similar injury that no one could properly diagnose. Some doctors said I just had stress of muscles in my lower back, but it felt like something way worse. Maybe a slip disc or a bulging disc like yours. All I know is back injury’s whenever you’re into lifting take months to heal and slow walking was about all I could do in the gym for months to make it feel a little better. Also static stretching I found helped some days. I hope you feel better love 💕💕 just know you aren’t the only one who feels held back. Still to this day I get nervous about preforming lower back exercises and stretches

Megan I have a similar injury from dead lifting. Cupping has really helped and also the electrotherapy that my chiropractor uses - however I've been going to him for years so I really trust him. I still don't deadlift because I'm scared of the injury flaring up, but I'm no longer in pain and I can squat without an issue. I'm so sorry you're feeling so frustrated, I know exactly how you are feeling, plus the worry that you will be out from working out and lose progress. Love you.
OMG!!! I’ve had a bulging disc for the longest time everrr! Got bad to the point where it ruptured and I literally cannot move at all (sitting, bending, even walking was sooo incredibly painful) . I went to a chiro and it didn’t help. So I tried cupping and they focused on the area where it was pinched and omg what a difference. I will say if you try it, most likely you will have to rest for at least 2 weeks to a month.
Megan I am so sorry about your back. I have a herniated disc at L5 S1 and it really prevents me from doing certain activities. Recently it flared up so bad I couldn’t find any comfortable position and didn’t sleep for 3 nights :( I avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs but this last time I did a steroid burst and it worked so well. Something to consider just to get the inflammation down. You got this dude!
I am actually currently going through a back injury at the moment. We had just started going back to gymnastics finally and after warm up I had some serious pain. Has been a couple of weeks and haven't been able to go back yet because it is still bad. Not even sure what I can do really. Almost anything is a bother. I hope we both get better soon!!
Injuries are the worst and it sucks when they prevent us from doing the things we love. Back injuries are especially debilitating I'm so sorry and I hope you can get it figured out soon!
Hey Megan, I know exactly what you're feeling right now. I had the same exact injury last year and it took months for it to get to normal. Even sometimes if I overwork my back, it aches again. Just give it time and it will heal. Scale back on the weights (I know it's hard) but I went from being told by the doctors I would never be able to workout ever again (trust me I cried for weeks I was so heartbroken) to still be able to slowly come back into it. Please hang in there and it will be better I promise! And it's ok to cry about something you love so much (I sure as hell did) Hugs

This broke my heart..:( I also have injuries, in my case since 2018 due to chriropractic manipulations and it has changed my life completely. I have horrible neurologic problems from the cervical spine injury and my hips are also messed up due to these adjustments that weren't needed in the first place and were clearly not well executed and now I have sciatica like pains in both legs. I made it worse trying to find a new chiro to fix the problem the previous created, and ended up going to 4 ou 5. I wish I would have never gone to any of them. I'm not saying it never works, but it can also be quite dangerous and they sugar coat it a lot!! I hope that in your case is not as permanent but maybe stay away from the adjustments for a while to avoid the risk of worsening or creating more damage. I know how desperate you probably feel to get it fixed once it for all, I was in the exact same situation but I regret so much not letting the first injury settle which would have taken months. But I was brainwashes to believe I had to put it back in place, which was not true. The tissues and nerves had trauma. Wish you find strength to overcome this situation and the patience ❤️
Sounds like what I have .. sciatica is super painful , mine is painful low back ,hip, butt crease , pain all down to the heel ...I’m too scared to go to chiro ..
Literally went through the SAME thing, TWICE. Both times I couldn't even bend over to put on my sock lol I'm active as well and have slight scoliosis (found out just last year from my chiropractor, so crazy). Scoliosis is actually more common than I thought.The most recent time, I recognized 2 main things that helped me recover: 1) Getting a full nights rest (8-10 hours was my goal), staying away from the gym and refraining from being on my feet for long periods of time and 2) HEATING PAD. Such a lifesaver. I think I got mine from walgreens or Costco. But its a plug in heating pad and I would sleep on it EVERY night. Slowly felt my back pain diminish with these two combinations. I'm no professional, but I am a personal trainer so I know the importance of these two things as an athlete. Hope this helps :) You'll get through this! Best of luck
Vitamin D3 and Magnesium combined help my back problems quite a bit, I feel so so sad and understand how you feel. I used to love running and had to stop for awhile. Take it easy and walking helps so much!
You made me cry because I suffer from chronic joint pain and its very frustrating ... some days i still can't even brush my hair or do everyday things we take for granted like holding a fork.. on my good days I take advantage and enjoy being able to move. I hope you feel better soon ❤

Perhaps you could rub ICYHOT on the injured area to relieve some of the discomfort and pain...definitely an excellent product. I’ve been an athlete my entire life and have always been really injury prone they really suck my most recent injury I actually just recovered from and started walking again two weeks ago lol I somehow ran through a hip fracture...my pain tolerance is not normal so I didn’t even know that I fractured it lol but besides the point I definitely feel for you and you will get better or something good always comes out of something bad❤️❤️❤️

I get it , Megan. I injured my back a long while ago and I started doing a lot of different deadlifts and it made it worse. It has been a year and it still hurts so I’ve laid off of it but I lost all my booty gains I worked so hard for. 😔 In the end, being healthy and being able to do other things are more important so I substitute. Be careful. 👊🏼
Something I did really helped my back injury. Sleep on the floor for a week, no soft mattress...if it’s too harsh maybe try firm mattresses. No workout, no stretch and no more chiropractors, on my case these are temporary fix. Your body is smart and sometimes what it really needs is good rest and time. When sitting keep the back supported, I bought a good office chair and it’s super helpful although really expensive. Maybe buy second hand :).
As someone with chronic illnesses/rare diseases I can confirm that a lot of doctors do just go with the most likely diagnosis, when you said that I was like 🙌🏻. I hope you get some relief and can get back to lifting how you want etc soon

Megan I feel you. I pulled a groin muscle and have been hobbling around for forever and for the first few days I couldn't get out of bed. I also pinched two nerves in my back and suffer from lower lumbar issues anyway on a 24/7 basis, so now I can't stand, sit, lay, or walk without pain. Working out is the one thing that keeps my anxiety and depression in check. It's the only thing in life I look forward to doing every day, I'm super into fitness and healthy eating. I genuinely look forward to doing my vinyasa yoga, weight training and hiit pilates. Now I've been bed ridden long enough that I debate the point and purpose of life. I can't see my friends because of COVID and my partner rots in a desert waste land. SO yea. Girl I feel you. When that ONE thing that you LOVE to do you can't. People just don't 'get it'. How much having that as aprt of your lifestyle really matter for your mental and emotional well being. I do not enjoy tv or youtube--just...ya know sitting around. I watch it because I'm bored and can't do anythign else--that's actually how I stumbled upon you and I do enjoy your blunt personality ;). I have it playing in the background while I try to do something arts and crafts. But literally everything I love to do is always physically demanding, hiking, root climbing, running, lifting, even cleaning I'd be so grateful to do right now without pain, etc etc. Hopefully we can both get back to it.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. My back started hurting me in September, and I JUST now found a good chiro. Like I was hunched over for a good while. And I hate limiting myself with weights too. Really just aggravating .

A friend of mine had a bulging disk and had planned on seeing a chiropractor but didnt. She ended up needing surgery & her surgeon told her if she had gone to the chiropractor for an adjustment she could have been paralyzed 😕 It IS a big deal. Its excruciatingly painful and hard when you can't do what you love because of an injury. Just please be careful with chiropractors and don't make the injury worse 💕
I don’t usually comment on shit, but just wanted to say I ruptured disks In my back when I was 18. Worst experience of my life. Had the surgery though after months of trying to deal w it. It’s out patient and I swear I felt better the second I woke up in the hospital. My back has had no issues ever since and I’m also a weight lifter. My strongest day in the gym is back day ❤️ cheer up

I’m so sorry about your back pain. I literally had a micro discectomy on my lumbar spine earlier this year. Sitting and just about everything else hurt for me as well. It was such a minor procedure and I feel so much better now. I hope you feel better. Back pain is some of the worst 🤦🏾♂️
I have the same injury from a deadlift. Had to get nerve ablation (burning of the nerve) to make the pain stop (I could barely move without pain) and am just now....several years later....able to deadlift, squat and row again but nowhere near my old weight. Disc injuries are hard. It will get better though. I ended up seeing a neurologist who did the nerve ablation. It’s rough and I totally feel your pain.

I see a physiotherapist regularly who has given me great advice on stretching and massaging to relieve the back spasms. It took a bit of time but the pain will lessen. I now have no pain bending over and can sit comfortably. I’m sure you’ll find your way through this and hope that pain lessens for you soon!

when you started crying about your injury, i felt your pain so much. i pulled a nerve in my right hamstring in 2018 from dance. i eventually didn’t feel anymore pain but then the same pain came back last year when i started dance again. i was stretching everyday and didn’t even do anything extreme so i was so frustrated. i cried almost everyday because i had to sit out and even walking became painful. being restricted from something you love because your body cannot take it is so heartbreaking. i hope you find something that works soon and i pray for your recovery❤️

Although "Chinese food" may not be the most accurate name, it's not a big deal to call it chinese food. I'm chinese and I call it that most of the time because "American Chinese cuisine" is pretty long to say.

*You might have better luck with an ORTHOPEDIC, they commonly deal with sports injuries so they'll take their time with you...even do physical therapy if they think it can be managed without doing surgery* 👍👍

Just a suggestion for you, is try to find a chiropractor that does decompression. I'm dealing with low back pain. L4 or L5 is where mine is bothering me. I've been suffering the past 4 months and just started decompression treatments because regular adjustments just aren't doing it for me. So I've been going in once a week the past 2 weeks (so I've only had 2 treatments so far) but I have noticed huge changes in how I feel. It helps stretch out and separate your vertebrae to help relieve the pressure on bulging disks. You should really check into this. I've cried many tears of frustration. I feel you girl!! But I get adjustments right after the decompression sessions. Just a suggestion for you. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! Lots of love❤

I have a bulged disk too and went to a neurologist for it. He told me to avoid going to a chiropractor because an adjustment could make the bulge worse. I got prescribed tramadol (pain med) and diclofenac (muscle relaxer) and that was the only think that made the pain go away for a while. Also he told me to do planks every day and that swimming would also help a lot, but to avoid sit ups/any workouts that make you strain your back and heavy lifting

I feel your exact pain Megan. And it breaks my heart. I had a similar injury that no one could properly diagnose. Some doctors said I just had stress of muscles in my lower back, but it felt like something way worse. Maybe a slip disc or a bulging disc like yours. All I know is back injury’s whenever you’re into lifting take months to heal and slow walking was about all I could do in the gym for months to make it feel a little better. Also static stretching I found helped some days. I hope you feel better love 💕💕 just know you aren’t the only one who feels held back. Still to this day I get nervous about preforming lower back exercises and stretches

Megan I have a similar injury from dead lifting. Cupping has really helped and also the electrotherapy that my chiropractor uses - however I've been going to him for years so I really trust him. I still don't deadlift because I'm scared of the injury flaring up, but I'm no longer in pain and I can squat without an issue. I'm so sorry you're feeling so frustrated, I know exactly how you are feeling, plus the worry that you will be out from working out and lose progress. Love you.
OMG!!! I’ve had a bulging disc for the longest time everrr! Got bad to the point where it ruptured and I literally cannot move at all (sitting, bending, even walking was sooo incredibly painful) . I went to a chiro and it didn’t help. So I tried cupping and they focused on the area where it was pinched and omg what a difference. I will say if you try it, most likely you will have to rest for at least 2 weeks to a month.

Megan I am so sorry about your back. I have a herniated disc at L5 S1 and it really prevents me from doing certain activities. Recently it flared up so bad I couldn’t find any comfortable position and didn’t sleep for 3 nights :( I avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs but this last time I did a steroid burst and it worked so well. Something to consider just to get the inflammation down. You got this dude!

I am actually currently going through a back injury at the moment. We had just started going back to gymnastics finally and after warm up I had some serious pain. Has been a couple of weeks and haven't been able to go back yet because it is still bad. Not even sure what I can do really. Almost anything is a bother. I hope we both get better soon!!

Hey Megan, I know exactly what you're feeling right now. I had the same exact injury last year and it took months for it to get to normal. Even sometimes if I overwork my back, it aches again. Just give it time and it will heal. Scale back on the weights (I know it's hard) but I went from being told by the doctors I would never be able to workout ever again (trust me I cried for weeks I was so heartbroken) to still be able to slowly come back into it. Please hang in there and it will be better I promise! And it's ok to cry about something you love so much (I sure as hell did) Hugs

This broke my heart..:( I also have injuries, in my case since 2018 due to chriropractic manipulations and it has changed my life completely. I have horrible neurologic problems from the cervical spine injury and my hips are also messed up due to these adjustments that weren't needed in the first place and were clearly not well executed and now I have sciatica like pains in both legs. I made it worse trying to find a new chiro to fix the problem the previous created, and ended up going to 4 ou 5. I wish I would have never gone to any of them. I'm not saying it never works, but it can also be quite dangerous and they sugar coat it a lot!! I hope that in your case is not as permanent but maybe stay away from the adjustments for a while to avoid the risk of worsening or creating more damage. I know how desperate you probably feel to get it fixed once it for all, I was in the exact same situation but I regret so much not letting the first injury settle which would have taken months. But I was brainwashes to believe I had to put it back in place, which was not true. The tissues and nerves had trauma.

Literally went through the SAME thing, TWICE. Both times I couldn't even bend over to put on my sock lol I'm active as well and have slight scoliosis (found out just last year from my chiropractor, so crazy). Scoliosis is actually more common than I thought.The most recent time, I recognized 2 main things that helped me recover:
1) Getting a full nights rest (8-10 hours was my goal), staying away from the gym and refraining from being on my feet for long periods of time and 2) HEATING PAD. Such a lifesaver. I think I got mine from walgreens or Costco. But its a plug in heating pad and I would sleep on it EVERY night. Slowly felt my back pain diminish with these two combinations.
I'm no professional, but I am a personal trainer so I know the importance of these two things as an athlete. Hope this helps :) You'll get through this! Best of luck
Vitamin D3 and Magnesium combined help my back problems quite a bit, I feel so so sad and understand how you feel. I used to love running and had to stop for awhile. Take it easy and walking helps so much!

I've known a few people that messed up their backs for life from weight lifting. Please take it easy with the weight lifting to not make it any worse. I hope some how you heal and get better.. anything is possible ❤️

I’ve been an athlete my entire life and have always been really injury prone they really suck my most recent injury I actually just recovered from and started walking again two weeks ago lol I somehow ran through a hip fracture...my pain tolerance is not normal so I didn’t even know that I fractured it lol but besides the point I definitely feel for you and you will get better or something good always comes out of something bad❤️❤️❤️

I get it , Megan. I injured my back a long while ago and I started doing a lot of different deadlifts and it made it worse. It has been a year and it still hurts so I’ve laid off of it but I lost all my booty gains I worked so hard for. 😔 In the end, being healthy and being able to do other things are more important so I substitute. Be careful. 👊🏼
Something I did really helped my back injury. Sleep on the floor for a week, no soft mattress...if it’s too harsh maybe try firm mattresses. No workout, no stretch and no more chiropractors, on my case these are temporary fix. Your body is smart and sometimes what it really needs is good rest and time. When sitting keep the back supported, I bought a good office chair and it’s super helpful although really expensive. Maybe buy second hand :).

As someone with chronic illnesses/rare diseases I can confirm that a lot of doctors do just go with the most likely diagnosis, when you said that I was like 🙌🏻. I hope you get some relief and can get back to lifting how you want etc soon

Megan I feel you. I pulled a groin muscle and have been hobbling around for forever and for the first few days I couldn't get out of bed. I also pinched two nerves in my back and suffer from lower lumbar issues anyway on a 24/7 basis, so now I can't stand, sit, lay, or walk without pain. Working out is the one thing that keeps my anxiety and depression in check. It's the only thing in life I look forward to doing every day, I'm super into fitness and healthy eating. I genuinely look forward to doing my vinyasa yoga, weight training and hiit pilates. Now I've been bed ridden long enough that I debate the point and purpose of life. I can't see my friends because of COVID and my partner rots in a desert waste land. SO yea. Girl I feel you. When that ONE thing that you LOVE to do you can't. People just don't 'get it'. How much having that as aprt of your lifestyle really matter for your mental and emotional well being. I do not enjoy tv or youtube--just...ya know sitting around. I watch it because I'm bored and can't do anythign else--that's actually how I stumbled upon you and I do enjoy your blunt personality ;). I have it playing in the background while I try to do something arts and crafts. But literally everything I love to do is always physically demanding, hiking, root climbing, running, lifting, even cleaning I'd be so grateful to do right now without pain, etc etc. Hopefully we can both get back to it.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. My back started hurting me in September, and I JUST now found a good chiro. Like I was hunched over for a good while. And I hate limiting myself with weights too. Really just aggravating .

A friend of mine had a bulging disk and had planned on seeing a chiropractor but didnt. She ended up needing surgery & her surgeon told her if she had gone to the chiropractor for an adjustment she could have been paralyzed 😕 It IS a big deal. Its excruciatingly painful and hard when you can't do what you love because of an injury. Just please be careful with chiropractors and don't make the injury worse 💕
I don’t usually comment on shit, but just wanted to say I ruptured disks In my back when I was 18. Worst experience of my life. Had the surgery though after months of trying to deal w it. It’s out patient and I swear I felt better the second I woke up in the hospital. My back has had no issues ever since and I’m also a weight lifter. My strongest day in the gym is back day ❤️ cheer up

I’m so sorry about your back pain. I literally had a micro discectomy on my lumbar spine earlier this year. Sitting and just about everything else hurt for me as well. It was such a minor procedure and I feel so much better now. I hope you feel better. Back pain is some of the worst 🤦🏾♂️

I have the same injury from a deadlift. Had to get nerve ablation (burning of the nerve) to make the pain stop (I could barely move without pain) and am just now....several years later....able to deadlift, squat and row again but nowhere near my old weight. Disc injuries are hard. It will get better though. I ended up seeing a neurologist who did the nerve ablation. It’s rough and I totally feel your pain.
