The Whittaker's chocolate factory is right near my son's college. When we get out of the car you get an instant hit of what smells like freshly cooked brownie wafting around the neighbourhood. It's delicious 😋😋 this was a really enjoyable video. The animal that would have been in the shell is a paua, a type of abalone. Also a delicacy over here, often made into paua fritters, and is pronounced pah-oo-ah, or poe-ah when you blend the first two vowels ❤

Just about every NZ home has most of those delights in their cupboards, especially the toffee pops! With the cookie time large choc chip its divine if you put it in the microwave for a few seconds and the chocolate melts through, delicious! The big pāua shell (abalone) has a mollusk in it, that you scoop out, it's very dark green and meaty too, slice it up and pan fry, amazing!

New Zealand and Australia are two different countries. Feijoa's are known as pineapple guava in the USA. Recommend keeping the Buzz bars in the freezer (if there are any left!). They taste great frozen. Hokey pokey is (honeycomb candy0) is popular here. Hokey Pokey ice cream is one of our best creations! NZ chocolate is high quality dairy based as we are a dairy producing country, Glad you enjoyed our kiwi junk food. It was a good taster.

I don't know if it's still there, but I remember the Log Cabin in Hanmer Springs used to do a drink called Fish in a Bowl. It was either a mocha or a hot chocolate (can't remember which, I haven't lived down south in years) with whipped cream, marshmallows, baby chocky fish, and chocolate sauce. I used to get them to go and wait 5mins before I started drinking it. All this melted chocolatey marshmallowy creamy hot drink goodness would slowly ooze its way from the little opening in the lid. When I was there in winter with snow on the ground it was the freaking best.

The big cookie/biscuit is nice put in the microwave for 10-15 seconds as it melts the chocolate and makes it nice and gooey.

She didn't put the kiwi dip with the chips. Onion soup mixed with reduced cream then refrigerated for 30mins. Great with the chips and the salami. It was definitely an experience watching you taste all those in one go. made me hungry so I'm off to cook dinner hmm and not chocolate. Enjoy.

Feijoa is an interesting fruit. Strangely has a wintergreen taste to it but also guava. There's a NZ drink company called Fresh Up that has a nice carbonated juice based soda that's apple, lemon, and feijoa.
Paua is our “abalone” and that’s the shell ❤ & your pronouncistion of pa-wa was incredible. Thank you for caring for your language (reo). The little bag you got is called a kete (ke like key, te like tea). We (Māori) weave fir a lot of things, and yes, you can use it for your change lol

Miraka is milk, kīrimi is creamy. The English block is “creamy milk” ❤ the company made this block for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori language week) and some people (the melanin deficient ones in particular) didn’t like that lol
